a/n: figured we could use a break from the angst and brighten things up with some cheesy romantic holiday cheer! since this is also sort of a gift for myself, i did all of my favorites hehe. enjoy these short little headcanons about getting caught under the mistletoe with some best boys and happy holidays heroes~!
KATSUKI BAKUGOU definitely thinks you set this up (no shit). you both just happened to walk beneath the mistletoe that had only been hung up as a joke as you’re getting ready to head up for bed? likely story. is he complaining though? . . . no of fucking course not he’ll take any excuse to kiss you. especially since no one seems to be paying attention to either of you. most, if not all of your classmates that still remain in the common room are deeply engaged in the live action grinch movie. some have even fallen asleep. so with a slightly feigned sigh of annoyance, bakugou turns to you, hands still shoved deep in the pockets of his santa coat that you somehow managed to wrestle him into earlier that day, and presses a surprisingly soft kiss to your lips. you’re left floating on cloud nine when he pulls away and the hint of a smile plays at his lips while you grin like a great big dope. “and that’s the last gift you’re getting from me. merry christmas, moron.”
SHOTO TODOROKI he is genuinely confused when mina gleefully races over and dangles the odd looking plant over your heads, announcing through her giggles that you two have to kiss now. in front of everyone? is his immediate thought, a slight shyness overtaking him. he never heard of the mistletoe tradition growing up, but when you explain it to him through your flustered agitation, he thinks it’s quite a silly yet romantic gesture. or it could be in a situation that didn’t involve an audience. most of the class is cheering their support for a kiss and you look like you’re about to melt into a puddle of embarrassment, mumbling to him that he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t want. shoto wants to kiss you though, he was just confused at first. gently taking your face into his hands he places a sweet kiss to your lips and the class erupts in a wave of celebratory cheers. “did i do it right?” he asks tentatively once he’s pulled away, anxiety easing when you give him a bright smile. “it was more than perfect. kinda tasted like peppermint!”
IZUKU MIDORIYA he’s just finishing up dishes while the rest of your classmates get ready to settle down to watch a marathon of their favorite holiday movies when you sneak up behind him, holding a small branch of mistletoe over his head. his face ignites a red bright enough to put rudolph’s nose to shame and you’re trying hard not to burst into a fit of giggles. a lot of flustered stuttering, waving of soapy hands, and general embarrassed combustion later, you’re about to tell him that you were only teasing him when he casts a wary glance over his shoulder to make sure no one is looking. then he tugs you in by the belt loop of your jeans for a kiss that leaves you entirely breathless. sometimes you forget how ridiculously good he is at kissing. he dabs a dollop of soap suds on your nose when he pulls away, flashing you an impish smile through reddened cheeks. not fair, you think to yourself still kiss drunk. “aren’t you glad you’re all i wanted for christmas, baby doll?” “kiss me again and i’ll tell you.”
EJIRO KIRISHIMA kaminari helps him out with this one. they hung up a piece of mistletoe just above his dorm door, so when you walk in ready to cuddle and watch holiday movies with some christmas cookies, he’s got you immediately. he knows he can get a kiss from you whenever he wants, he just thinks the gesture is too cheesy and sweet to resist. you love him though and find his romantic effort endearing, of course you have to reward him with a kiss. even if you hadn’t been alone, you know his kiss would have been just as intimate and sensual. one arm wrapped around your waist while his other hand rests at the back of your neck, holding you close and kissing you with enough passion to make your head spin. he continues to pepper your face in kisses even as he pulls away. “santa baby got everything he wanted this year.” “oh my god you’re such a dork.”
DENKI KAMINARI denki’s not sure when it became a game, all he knows is that he has been trying to get you all day, but you keep dodging him! he’s not sure how you’re doing it because he’s so sure he’s being sneaky, then you whip around and catch him in the act and shake your head with a smug little grin. he is so determined to get you under the mistletoe at least once. finally it happens though! he catches you just as your about to stand to get another drink from the kitchen and announces triumphantly, “hah, mistletoe!” he swings the little branch over your head, then pats you on the top of the had with it. “c’mon where’s my kiss? i worked hard for it!” accepting your loss, you roll your eyes and giggle, leaning in to place a short peck on his lips before walking away. “what?! that’s all i get?! i think this santa should get a little more sugar!”
