You'd heard plenty of stories about the Storybook Forest. It got its name from all of the myths and fairytale-like stories people told about it. It was where stories like "Little Red Riding Hood," "The Three Little Pigs," "Hansel and Gretel," etc. originated. Of course, it was all just silly little stories that parents used to keep their children from wandering the forest alone.
Teenagers liked to go and scare passersby, especially during Halloween. For years, people avoided the place at night, but it soon became popular amongst college students. People held Halloween parties there and even set up haunted Halloween walks, where people were hiding along the paths waiting to scare their victims.
Halloween was never your favorite. You scared easily, and the sight of blood, both real and fake, made you feel nauseous. Yet, you somehow found yourself standing by the small fire in the middle of Storybook Forest dressed as Little Red Riding Hood.
One of your classmates, Minsoo, asked you to be his date. He seemed nice at first and had talked to you on numerous occasions. You quickly discovered he was actually a total tool. He invited you, but he ended up ditching you pretty early and was over by the keg flirting heavily with a zombie cheerleader.
"This blows," you murmured to yourself, chugging the rest of your soda before tossing the can in the trash and wandering off.
Truth be told, you had no idea where you were and just wanted to find the parking lot. Hopefully, you could get a signal and call someone to pick you up.
Unsurprisingly, wandering through a dark forest in the middle of the night alone was not the best idea. You were cold and totally freaked out. Any small noise made your heart pound faster as you would pick up your pace. A fork in the road made you stop in your tracks. One of them led to the parking lot, but which one? And where did the other one lead you? That was something that you didn't care to find out, but there was a 50% chance that you would.
As you mulled over your choices, a twig snapped, making your whole body stiffen. Your suspicions of it being a person were confirmed when they started whistling lowly. You wanted to scream and run, but you were too scared to do anything.
"Little Red? All alone in the forest? How dangerous," the person said, their voice soft and low, yet still sending shivers down your spine. "This is no place for a little girl like yourself."
You were gonna faint...or vomit. Whatever the case, you felt sick and shaky. As you finally managed to gain some control over your body, you took a step backward. That was when you noticed a figure peering at you from behind a tree. You couldn't make out any features, but you could see what looked like wolf ears on their head. It had to be someone playing a sick prank on you.
Taking another step back, you stepped on a rock, causing you to lose your balance. You fell on your butt, scratching your arm on something as you hit the ground. "How pitiful," the person snickered, stepping closer to you. By that point, you'd already accepted your death. As they stepped into view, the moonlight allowed you to see the boy before you better. He was dressed in a suit with wolf ears on his head.
"Wh-who are you?" you barely managed to stutter out, your hand blindly searching for a large rock or a thick tree branch.
Jaemin smirked, stepping even closer and bending down enough for you to smell his cologne. "Tell me, dear, are you afraid of the big bad wolf?"
