We were initially going to shoot at the White House, but there was a Nazi gathering there that day. Erica and her daughter could be targeted by those people, so we shifted our shoot to the Capitol, reasoning that we could change the people in the Capitol sooner anyway. Who we are, what we look like and who we love are still used to deny people in our country of jobs, benefits, education, pay, protection, safety, services and more.
