Genji’s heart almost stopped when Anubis dropped into a dive, hands gripping at the ridges on Anubis’ back to keep himself steady. The rush he got from it was amazing though and he knew he was grinning as he watched the ground race toward them.
He had so much trust in Anubis that it didn’t even cross his mind to be worried and as he watched the base grow larger and more defined he could just barely make out a little crowd that had formed to watch the display.
Once the base is easier to see. Anubis unfurls his wings to full span, creating enough drag to slow his speed. Catching an updraft and gradually lifting himself from being tilted.
Banking a sharp left, the Dragon barrel rolled. Steadied into an easy glide.
He paid no mind to the small crowd. He actually landed right in front of them. Hissing loudly to get them to back off. Snorting and shaking his head to clear his sinuses of ashes.
Genji actually let out a short shout of surprise as Anubis rolled, pressing himself flush against his back and holding tight with his legs. His laughter followed immediately after and he straightened up as Anubis landed.
He didn’t even look at the crowd. Instead, he opted to run his hands over Anubis’ scales and press a small kiss to the dragon’s neck as he raised his head.
“Amazing, Anubis,” he murmured, eyes practically dancing as he finally looked over to the crowd who had all backed away as Anubis hissed at them. As he suspected McCree and Reyes were among them and just staring at them looking both surprised and impressed.

Avery's just gonna curl up next to genji and fall asleep. She's bruised from a fight on a mission but she didn't care all she wanted to do was sleep and sleep she did.
Genji smiled softly as he felt Avery curl up to him, moving so he could carefully wrap an around her. He relaxed as the doors closed on the transport ship and let his eyes fall closed as well. Surprisingly he managed to doze off himself with his arm still wrapped securely around the woman next to him.
((Okay I mentioned totally remaking this blog but I’m lazy and don’t have time to completely do that right now. So, for the time being, I’ll be doing things on here when I get the time. I’m still far more active on Discord though and am more than willing to do things on there.))

Genji laughed quietly as he dropped the armful of snacks he had swiped from the kitchen in the little fort they had made in front of the TV. “I hope so. I would hate to disappoint after you were so excited to join me.” He crawled in beside Andrew and started flipping through the movies. “So what would you like to watch?”

Genji grinned and turned on the movie, grabbing his blanket and pulling it around his shoulders. “It is a win-win either way.” Genji actually leaned over to bump his shoulder against Andrew’s playfully. “I hope you don’t get scared easily.”
Andrew laughed. “Me? Nah! Never in my life.” He leaned back and folded his arms behind his head. “But I am here for you to cling when you get scared.” he smirked.
Genji let out a snort and rolled his eyes. “It will take more than a few jump scares to scare me.” He did sound far more confident than he felt. He hoped this wasn’t as scary as he had heard or else he would be taking Andrew up on that offer.
Andrew grabbed a bag of chips and started munching on them as the movie started up.
It was a movie about a family that was being hunted by a monster that was attracted to sound. It wasn’t too long before Andrew stopped eating, the crinkling of the bag and the crunch of chips suddenly seeming much too loud. He just stared at the screen, utterly engrossed by the movie.
When it finally ended, Andrew didn’t move for several moments. Smoke suddenly bloomed off his body, and he stood. His steps were now noiseless as he gathered up the remains of snacks to toss them out.
Genji was perfectly still when the movie ended. Even the near silent whirring of his cybernetics sounded too loud in his ears as he watched Andrew stand to gather up the trash. He stood slowly himself to help the other clean up.
It wasn’t until he accidentally stepped on an empty bag of chips that was half hidden under a blanket on the ground that he nearly jumped out of his skin. He slapped a hand over his mouth to muffle the startled noise that left him.

“I am glad you think so,” Genji mumbled, trying to get comfortable in the tiny bed without taking up too much room, “maybe I should just sleep in the floor.” He looked down thoughtfully, weighing the consequences of a night on the cold hard floor. Granted this was better than sleeping on one of the crappy couches, but he wasn’t feeling quite as optimistic as his companion at the moment.
Ray: (He’s grinning) “Oh, so that’s how you’re going to play it, eh Genji?”
(Ray gives a few playful pokes of his own, laughing playfully all the while.)
Genji lets out a small snort of laughter before he can stop himself, poking Ray a few more times in return. “It is. What are you going to do about it?”

(With a grin, Ray gently takes the tablet from Genji’s hand and puts in on a table beside the bed. Then, he sat up and, without warning, pretended to tackle Genji.)
Genji didn’t make a move to stop him as he took the tablet. Nor does he make a move to block the little pretend tackle. Instead, he lets out another snort of laughter and gives a feeble attempt to push the other man away without much force at all behind it.

(Before long, Ray had himself and Genji wrapped up in an affectionate playfight. Ray made sure not to harm Genji, keeping his movements gentle. Before long, he was sitting on Genji’s chest, leaning close with a grin.)
Ray: “Gotcha.”
Genji was careful not to be too rough with Ray but played along with him. He wasn’t entirely sure how Ray managed to get on his chest, but he gave a small playful glare that was broken by a smile he just couldn’t contain.
“I guess you win…this time.”

Ray: “Heh. ‘This time’? Sounds like someone is up for another sleepover someday.”
(He leaned in, affectionately ruffling Genji’s hair.)
Genji rolled his eyes, pushing the other man’s hand away with a little huff of irritation.
“Only if we stay in my room. My bed is bigger.”
*signs angrily*

Genji crossed his arms over his chest, arching a brow at the man as if challenging him. “What are you going to do? Tell Reyes?” He wrinkled his nose at the thought but didn’t back down. Despite the man being clearly angry it took far more than that to intimidate the cyborg.

Morgan shook his head. <Whatever then. Let’s just get back to practice.> Commander Reyes was watching them from above, and he would chew them out if they continued arguing.
Morgan stepped back and focused his powers. Metal debris littered across the arena rose into the air and flew behind the psychic. He gestured at Genji to come at him.
Genji dropped into his fighting stance without hesitation - this time without his sword drawn. The metal debris didn’t worry him too much even though he had just made the other man angry. He supposed it was fine if he got hurt. At least in some part of his questionable logic that made sense.
He dashed forward toward the psychic, eyes flickering between him and the debris. His shuriken clicked out of their mechanism smoothly and he made a move as if to feign right, catching himself on the ground and zig zagging his way around to the man’s other side in an attempt to draw his fire.
Morgan sent debris flying at the ninja. While his first volley predictably missed, he grabbed a second volley and made it chase Genji instead. When the moment was right, he’d form a wall to trap Genji, but he needed to utmost concentration.
Then shuriken came flying at his face and he had to drop the metal to summon a barrier. The shuriken bounced off, but now the ninja was flying at him, ready to land a direct blow. Morgan telekinetically grabbed the shuriken and sent them flying back at Genji.
A split second of worry passed through him when the debris started to follow him, but it was short lived and he found himself quickly having to abandon all thought to dodge his own shuriken. It shouldn’t have caught him off guard, but he still wasn’t used to training with someone who could throw things with their mind.
The last of the shuriken embedded itself deep in his cybernetic leg, earning a hiss from him as he ignored the pain of it - an odd sensation that all at once felt real and synthetic. Still, he hit the ground and launched himself back in the air aiming to follow through on his blow. Nothing too painful. Just enough to knock the other to the ground and hopefully pin him.

Nothing he had experienced before in his life could compare to the rush he felt when Anubis took flight. He felt himself being forced to lay flat against the dragon as the wind pressed against him.
He managed to raise up and felt himself grinning wide as he felt the energy pass between them. His eyes met Anubis’ before looking down at the base below.
It was amazing and he felt his heart soaring with them. He would have to remember to tell Anubis how amazing he is once they landed. Although he had a feeling nothing he could say would ever communicate just how he felt about the dragon.

Red eyes turn toward the sky, catching sight of what would have been a foreboding shadow had he not known better. The videos and picture truly didn’t do him justice. Anubis was magnificent and Genji’s heart swelled with pride as he watched the dragon land.
He took his mask off and dropped his bag by his feet to properly greet the dragon with a smile. He had missed him so much. Far more than he ever thought himself capable in the first place.
“You have grown so much, Anu.”
Anubis began to approach the tiny figure. He now dwarfed his sire. Which was a bit odd for Anubis.
Once the Dragon reaches him, he hisses. Genji’s appearance hasn’t changed. He had missed him greatly, Haru too. Large snout lowering to sniff and gently nudging Genji for contact.
One shoulder is lowered. An audible gasp from those who had come to see the reunion. Anubis had never let anyone but Genji touch his back, and none had ridden the King Egyptian Imperial.
Anubis patiently waited.
Genji was awestruck by the sheer size of his once tiny hatchling. He smiled wide as Anubis nudged him, reaching up to run his hands reverently over his scales.
The surprise was evident on Genji’s face but he ran his hands down to the dragon’s lowered shoulder.
“You are magnificent, Anubis,” he murmured, petting the dragon for a moment longer allowing his fingers to trace over his scales.
He paused in his motions to climb up onto the dragon’s back, praising him almost lovingly in Japanese as he does so. He didn’t care about those watching. He had been waiting far too long to see Anubis again.

is genji also a cryptid or is it like normal shimada bros where hanzo manages to be the only cryptid out of the two of them
Sorry for taking so long!
Genji is also a cryptid, they are both moths
He and Hanzo had an ugly fight and he was left scarred, but they made amends and now they are cool. He doesn’t scare humans anymore and he travels with Zenyatta everywhere.
