im just gonna put it out there that, as an autistic person, its a little frustrating seeing people in the fandom theorize that whiteout’s autism is caused by being left in her egg too long by darkstalker.

it isnt something you can develop. youre born with it and its all to do with genetics. whiteout being left in her egg for an extra day would absolutely not “cause autism” its far more likely that her autism is the reason she stayed in her egg for an extra day, rather than the other way around.

and its just a very big pet peeve of mine and i wish people would research autism at least a little bit before talking about it. or talk to actual autistic people to get their opinions.

#wings of fire #as another autistic person-- YES!!#it doesn't even make sense that being in an egg for a single day longer could change someone's entire brain #chemistry. it's just like a baby being overdue-- it's born later than expected but it's not typically gonna have a #huge impact on the baby once it's born. autistic people often hit developmental milestones at different #times than neurotypicals which is a perfect explanation for whiteout's late hatching

Heads up for anyone wanting to buy the new book tomorrow- if you buy it at Barnes and Noble, you’ll get the Exclusive Edition with a bonus poster on the other side of the book jacket! The poster is very similar to the book jacket itself, but it also shows Blue’s companion character (who I won’t name for spoiler reasons) flying beside him.

Opinion: It looks much better than volume 1′s cover.

However I’m not fond of their swirl pattern idea all over the membrane + random leaf pattern for Tsunami. Maybe one of Tsunami’s ancestors was secretly from a Pantalan tribe of Leafwings? New headcanon found.

I think those are supposed to be the webbed talon prints that were mentioned as some kind of a royal marking in the book.
