I’m honestly intrigued by Bart’s personality when the vampyre takes over.  :P

I'm two issues into The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive (2006) and I'm starting to question if the author has actually read Bart's comic before writing this because how do you just mess up every single detail from the hero's origin 😭??? Like the basic facts are mostly correct but the details are just completely off. From Bart's just regularly reading in the San Francisco library with a cast on and Wally saying that he took Bart as his partner when he was Impulse. To Barry somehow staying long enough in the future to meet baby Bart before dying in crisis on infinite earths. And Max naming him Impulse?

I knew that the series has an awful reputation but I was not ready for all that...

No, no they did not.

The story goes, as confirmed by Mark Waid and Geoff Johns, is that Dan Didio wanted Bart to be The Flash, and yet despite numerous people within DC (Mark and Geoff included) begging him, pleading with him and trying to reason with him that this was NOT something fans wanted and it would not fit Bart's character, Dan ordered the book anyway.

We can assume the writer (Bilson) was essentially tapped for writing it with no prior knowledge of the character beyond what may have just been briefly conveyed - because there is no conceivable way that anyone writing Bart would get THAT MUCH wrong.

just thinking about bart repressing his grief for fifteen issues bc he didn’t wanna tell his friends that losing kon broke him and that he really did tear across the multiverse and helped reform young justice to find kon, and once yj was reformed, the lightning brought him back to kon, bc their love is also the hearth of the core yj friendship.

bart found kon, and he only broke down when he thought he could cry about it all by himself, cuz who cares about bart allen’s feelings, his grief, his many deaths, his resurrection? who cares about the fact that he still thinks this can’t be real because he was drugged, lost, and roaming mad looking for kon?

kon, because kon’s the person who grounds bart to his humanity. his lightning rod. at the very end when bart coulda broken down on his own, kon went chasing after him and let him break down with someone bart loved and trusted. bc bart DOES matter, and only kon could confirm that, because even tho bart was the catalyst, kon was the lynchpin.

and the entirety of yj understood that. none of the geoffian tomfoolery. just 24/7 bart, kon, and bartkon loving during yj 2019. THE greatest (accidental) lovestory ever told
