putting this blog on hiatus.

i’ve seen too many people talking about there being too many ocs, and the fact that her powers are similar to hancock’s made me think that there isn’t much of a place for her. i wanted to develop her and make her a memorable oc, but i don’t think i can do that.

i might write with her on discord, but that’s it.

Now she wanted more?! Drake wasn’t even sure if he could produce an infinite amount of scales. It hurt him enough whenever he took one off, but he didn’t know how much he could endure.
Nodding, he hesitantly was about to put his hand on another scale to take off, and managed to tear it. That was 3, but it was really starting to hurt like hell. It was then that she took hold of his scaly red arm. “N-NO! M’AM! Please I can do it myself!!” Drake insisted.
image
“AAAAUGH!” Drake moaned in pain, like ripping off a bandaid and leaving behind pins in the skin. His other claw dig deep in the floor as he was resisting the animal like urge to claw Madeline’s face in. He barred his fangs, showing a row of jagged teeth that could tear into flesh with ease. “I can do it, REALLY! Y-You don’t have to..”

“I’m afraid you’re taking too long, dear. This’ll make it much faster. Now — quit squirming, or I’m going to strap you down.” She cooed menacingly as he dropped the plucked scale and went in for another. Her fingers were quicker this time, nails scraping raw skin and the warm underside of solid keratin. The fifth scale, while high desired, was pulled slowly from its place on his arm. The gorgon leaned in, listened to the sound of tearing flesh and the pained moans falling from the young man’s lips. She relished in his misery and allowed herself a tiny, satisfied shiver when the scale gave way with a snap.

It joined the others, a tiny pile of glimmering red gradually forming as his forearm was stripped on every last scale. She didn’t go beyond his elbow, knowing he would need time to recover before her second harvest.

“There! That wasn’t so bad now, was it?” She released a sighed and stooped down to collect her reward. “They’re so pretty~!”

What would you say is her most redeemable quality? and what are her thoughts about the justice of the world? World government, pirates, etc.?

ℳ ; character development | anonymous

…uuhhh.

no, wait. hold on. i can think of something. i know i can. just give me a second.

it’s hard thinking of something redeeming for her because she’s the first villain oc i’ve ever made. i didn’t make her to be redeemable, nor have i had her long enough for something to come up. she has so many flaws and i wanted her to remain heavily flawed that i haven’t though much about this.

but, thinking, she’s tolertant. accepting. respectful ( to an extent . )

she doesn’t care what or who you are. sexuality, race, occupation, religion — none of that matters to her. for someone that uses people only to turn them into art, she has a wonderful way of seeing the beauty in damn near anything. someone can think so lowly of themselves, and she’ll still find something she finds appealing. it’ll most likely be some physical part of a person, but it’s something.

she accepts a person for who they are and there are very few exceptions.

Maddie appears to be extremely confident and proud, but does she have any fatal insecurities beneath the surface?

ℳ ; character development | anonymous

oh, of course. she keeps them as deeply buried as she can, but she has a few insecurities. i mean, she thinks without money and sex appeal that she’s useless. honestly, she has no skills outside of being manipulative and vaguely rich. she has charisma and has no trouble being social, but she fears being seen as ugly and pointless.

she likes being relevant. she likes knowing that people know her. well, people that won’t arrest her. she worries, one day, the world will start moving faster, and she won’t be able to keep up.

she’s getting older, and that scares her too. she’s both insecure and proud of her age, if that’s possible. she knows some people find her age attractive ‘cause older women are, usually, more mature and worldly. but, at the same time, she knows she can’t stop and just stay the age she is now. she’s gonna get weaker, wrinklier, more unattractive.

A black fingernail tapped at the thin rings wrapped around her lower lip, attention moving from one charm to the next as their purposes were explained. She had no love for the truth, since she was in the habit of lying with nearly every breath she took. That charm would be haven a hard pass, a gentle flick of her wrist as if she were brushing the offer aside. The next one offered a little more promise, since she often found herself emotionally exhausted. Dealing with people less fortunate than herself did that to a woman.

“I do like the black one, but go on. Do you have anything that helps with awareness, perhaps? Or something that can calm one mentally?”

She had already slipped her coin purse out and opened it, fingers toying with the folded bills and coins inside. She planned on buying the onyx one without a doubt, but she wouldn’t mind nabbing another if it benefited her.

does maddie remember every piece of her collection? does she remember her very fist one?

ℳ ; character development | anonymous

her collection is large, so you think she wouldn’t remember how she came across each and every one of her pieces. but most of them are acquired the same way; sneak someone away with the promise of free food, sex or booze and petrify them the moment they’re weak. there’s really nothing thrilling about 90% of her statues. it bums her out that there aren’t more exciting stories, but she has a few.

she does remember her first, though, considering it was her family.

she petrified her father first because he was the whiniest, weakest of the group and proved an excellent example of what was going to happen to the others. her mother and two sisters followed soon after. they’re not out with the rest of the statues, since she’s not proud of her work. she WAS proud when she first turned them all to stone, but coming back after being knocked out once in the past meant they had returned to normal. petrifying them a second time left her with different results, and she hates it.

For the sake of character development, feel free to ask me anything you would like to know or are unsure of about my muse: is madeline capable of falling in love? or forming any sort of deeper connections or does she see all humans as mere prizes to be won? do you think she would ever see someone as more than that? if so, what might it take to win her care?

ℳ ; character development | anonymous

nonnie. i love you. even tho i haven’t been on this blog often, i do think about my lil’ snake a lot. and this was something i was considering recently, so thank you for asking those perfect questions.

▸my short answer:

yes, i think she’s capable of loving someone.

▸long answer:

madeline acknowledges her flaws; she knows she’s selfish, she knows she’s high-maintenance and she knows she’s unlikable. she knows this and embraces it. she believes she is 100% incapable of changing that, so she doesn’t bother expecting someone to accept that. she knows what love and romance are, but she can’t imagine that anyone can keep up with her. not to mention she is one of the most stubborn women in existence.

she thinks that anyone claiming to love her wants her wealth, her connections or something from her collection. she has absolutely nothing to give except for sex, which is another thing she’s sure motivates people to come to her. there isn’t even a single speck of hope that someone will genuinely love her because she has no proof whatsoever that humans aren’t selfish.

it would take someone being honest and persistent. they would have to accept that she likes money and attention and requires lots of both. she’s dedicated to her work, so they’ll either be unaware of her methods ( if we’re talking about her main verse ) of obtaining her statues or is totally fine with her petrifying and abducting people for her amusement.

they would have to be quick and intelligent. she can’t deal with buffoons. no one that’s wishy-washy. anyone that can make clear, concise decisions without going back on them will get her attention more than someone indecisive.

basically, she needs someone like her but a little softer so they at least know they love her. pffft.

as for friendship, she’s a little more open to that. she still doesn’t think people actually like her, but she’s not opposed to having a good time and hanging out with people. she likes to have people around, she just doesn’t know it.

either way ( romance or friendship ) part of the problem is she doesn’t accept it when she feels something. she tries to squish it, but the right person could keep her from doing that and surprise her. but it’ll take a lot. i don’t want her to suddenly become soft and mushy because he’s capable of falling in love. i do have her written as aromantic. i’m gonna keep it that way until someone comes along and actually succeeds in charming her, but it’ll take a whole truckload of development.

             How precious.

Watching his head bob and his arm sag, it was like witnessing a stubborn kid as they fought off the impending need to nap. She could tell that he was trying to do his work, that he knew better than to allow himself to fall asleep when she had given him something important to do. His efforts were appreciated, but only for a second as she realized how precious his position was. A single jerk forward, and he could easily knock over the statue he was tending to.

Gentle fingers swept through his hair as she crept in behind him. She strokes the two-tones strands for a moment before her fist clenched, yanking his head back. Her lips brushed against his cheek and towards his ear, teeth grinding together.

“I have NO patience for you today. If you shatter even one of my precious works of art because you can’t stand, I’ll remove both of your legs and guarantee that you lose the ability entirely.”

    | ☽    It wasn’t often that the merchant would be approached with customer’s showing interest or asking of the merchandise, if anything most would have a look or two but would be too intimidated to converse with the female herself, thus at the question, icy hues would light up but it had been no more than a flicker, fading sooner than it surfaced.

❝They’re ‘pposed to be magic charms❞ she would explain to the black haired female; Eliza had never been much of a talker but when it came to her trade, she didn’t spare any explanation. ❝Each crystal holds different abilities.. purifyin’ and protecting from dark entities.. ❞ however soon enough her quiet nature would win over again and she’d trail off, speaking a more stoic tone and a shrug of the shoulders. ❝—or most just see ‘em as jewelry.

“Oh, they’re MAGIC, are they? Well, now,” she paused to take a closer look, “I think ye’ve caught my interest, little miss. Can’t say I’m familiar with these. Not real ones, anyway. Most of the charms I’ve stumbled upon ‘re fake, cheap, aren’t worth the glue keepin’ it t’gether. What you’ve got here looks good, but...”

She took her chin between her thumb and forefinger. “M’gonna need a little convincing. You understand, I’m sure. Gotta make sure it’s a good investment. Don’t want jewelry, got enough of it back ‘ome. So, tell me, what’s this one do?”

She motioned to the one sitting closet to her, then moved to gesture towards another. “An’ that one?”

「∅」–  "…It depends what you classify as ‘hideous’.” Yvonne muttered back in response. She paused to roll her sleeves up further to her elbows. Hands carefully uprooted some mint and tea plants scattered in the patch and placed them into a basket. When Yvonne thought the other woman would lose interest and walk away, she heard her voice once more. The doctor’s mask face once again gazed in the direction of the other. “Curious has consequences. I’m foraging herbs for medicine and tea. My supply is low right now. What’s your reason for existing here?”
Image

“Horrible disfiguration, mostly. Unforgiving mutations. Although, your attitude is the only horrendous thing I’ve had the pleasure of running into today.” And still her pleasant smile remained. Hands behind her back and fingers linked together, the collector leaned in further. She was tempted to reach in and pluck one of the mint leaves away, give the fragrant leaf a little sniff and a nibble — so she did exactly that. Between the straight tiers, she trapped the little leaf.

“Oh, I realize that. Curiousity, when put in the wrong places, can have disaterous results, but what harm can this do me? I’m only asking a simple question, and I’ve been given a simple answer. If it’s for medicine and tea, can I assume you’re a doctor, or work with one?”

She arched a brow and grinned. “I have no reason. I believe a woman is free to do as she pleases, and it pleases me to bother you while you’re working.”
