Step-by-step bow tutorial (ACNH)
Because it was requested
Step 1: You don’t need a monochrome palette, but for the sake of this tutorial, I’m using one (If you don’t know how to change palette colors, hover over the color you want to change (L or R) and select the paint tube on the top right. You will get a color slider). Start drawing the knot in a color a few shades darker than what the bow’s main color will be. You can use the mirror function (ZR) if you want to make sure it’s symmetrical.
Step 2: The bow! The big part! Whatever you want to call it
Step 3: Tails! They could have that the pointed tips or just a straight cut across. You do you
Step 4: Shadows! I prefer that they are darker than the main bow color and lighter than the outline. We’re just going for simplicity here. Look at my palette for reference.
Step 5: Paint bucket baybey! I like to make the bow part lighter than the tails to make it stand out a bit.
Optional: Flared tails!
Add highlights if you’d like. Experiment with palettes. Have fun!
I made some chalkboard signs to use around town 🌿
