Stiles could remember the very first time he'd seen her: long, flowing bright red curls and framed a strong jawline heavily contoured with makeup. He'd been captivated.
He maybe could have gotten over it if only Petra wasn’t so mysterious. (And Stiles, a self-proclaimed slut for mysteries.)
Note: There will be a part 2 posting on Christmas, which is a related story that takes place a number of years later, but this can be read as a stand-alone.

Peter Hale knew who he was. He used to be the most fearsome left-hand in the country. He had been a rabid, uncontrolled alpha for a bit. He was a betrayer, a liar, that had pushed what was left of his family away. For a long time, he was sick with himself; now, he was just sick with the world. There had been a war. Tamora Monroe had brought them together to fight a common cause, but they went their separate ways when it was all over. Scott McCall had let him work to protect the pack until the war ended, but he wouldn’t tolerate it afterward. There was no surprise there; Scott had never been his biggest fan, and vice versa. Peter had slunk off in the middle of the night, promising to continue his mission. He would hunt them to extinction, not that he told any of them that.
Then out of nowhere, Stiles Fucking Stilinski had claimed the kill without Peter noticing that he was in the area. What could possibly go wrong?
Hello, everyone this year I wrote two fics for my secret santa recipient. I unfortunately realized that my first fic got way out of hand and didn't meet the criteria, but my recipient @thefancydragonqueen agreed to be willing to try something difficult, so while it is complete it is not the only gift. I'm giving them 2 gifts. The First listed one above (My bestfriend's Boyfriend) is the apology fic. It is a soulmate AU fic hurt/comfort angsty smut fichopefully this will appeal to them. The second (I'll track you down among the pines) is a horror fic where Peter and Stiles must work together to survive. They flirt and banter a lot and eventually, get together at the end. I'll be creating warnings in the text for injuries which isn't the norm for me but hopefully will aid my giftee if they choose to embark upon the journey of reading this. hopefully they will enjoy the parts of it which are more psychological and for the injuries which occur I tried not to get too graphic but they do get hurt. The injuries are akin to things which occur in the show, but there's a lot less time dwelling on the injuries and no overly drawn out depictions of bleeding, blood spray or anything like that because it never appeals to me as a writer that much.
They're both multichapter fics and I will be releasing chapters each day until all of my work on them is posted and then for My Best Friend's Boyfriend, I will complete it as soon as I am able, however I'm uncertain when that will be as I just keep writing more.
Hopefully, one of the two will be fully enjoyable for my intended reader. And for the rest of you I hope you'll enjoy both.

I have no idea what you are in the most basic terms. Are you a student? A criminal? A basket case?” “You’re funny,” Stiles deadpans. “And helpful.”

He felt it in his chest the second it happened.
Spinning, he threw out as much magic as he could, trying to tether himself to his wolf as he ran toward him. “Don’t you fucking die on me!” He screamed, lifting Peter’s head so they were eye to eye, “I can’t do this without you!” It didn’t matter, none of it mattered because he was too late. He couldn’t stop it, could feel his wolf’s life slipping away from him. He knew the second Peter was gone, felt all the magic untether, whiplashing back and wrapping around him.
Surging to his feet, he spun on Scott, “Where were you!? What the fuck happened!?”
“Calm down,” grunting and waving at the man that he had pinned down, Scott gave him a grimace, “I got him. I stopped him.”
“HE KILLED PETER! WHY IS HE STILL BREATHING?”
“I can’t just kill him,” rolling his eyes, Scott pushed the guy forward, stopping to glance down at the fallen wolf, “He’ll be missed and all, but it’s not like I can just kill the guy in retaliation.”
“I can,” Stiles growled, throwing out the magic that had been spinning around him since Peter died. He let it rip through the man who had murdered his wolf, manipulating the water in his body until it filled his lungs. Stiles whole body shook with effort as he worked his magic. The sound of the guy choking on the water filling his lungs was loud enough to drown out the sound of Scott screaming at him to stop.
He’d done it. He’d avenged his wolf.
