Kenfetti Week 2024 Schedule
Timeline: Prompt Reveals: May 12th 2024 Works Due: July 28th 2024 Works Revealed: August 4th - 10th 2024
Prompts Reveal - May 12th On May 12th, the prompts for each day of Kenfetti Week 2024 will be revealed in the AO3 Collection and here on our tumblr and creation for the event can begin!
Works Due - July 28th All works for Kenfetti Week 2024 are due by the end of July 28th. Any works submitted after July 28th will be accepted or rejected at the discretion of the mods. You can submit works to the collection by either clicking the "Post to Collection" button on the upper right hand of the AO3 collection page or by opening a new work and typing kenfetti_week_2024 into the "Post to Collections" field under the Associations box. Please remember to tag submissions with the relevant day you're submitting for and the year separated by a hyphen like "Day 3- 2024" or "Day 5- 2024" so that we can reveal them on the proper days!
Works Reveals - August 4th - 10th All works submitted to the Kenfetti Week 2024 Collection will be selectively revealed according to whichever day of Kenfetti Week it was created for. e.g. all works for Day 3- 2024 will be revealed on August 6th, all works for Day 6- 2024 will be revealed on August 9th, etc. Please feel free to also post your works here on tumblr on the correct days and tag us @kenfetti-week!
Note: due to the semi-hidden nature of the collection, works will be backdated in the AO3 Kenfetti tag and thus may be missed by readers looking through the tag for updated/new works. To rectify this, it’s recommended that authors edit their works’ publication date—found at the bottom of the Associations box, between the multiple chapters tick-box and the language selection—to the day of each work’s reveal. Publication dates cannot be set in the future, so each of these will have to be manually changed on the day they are revealed so as to appear properly in the tag.

Good news everyone, Kenfetti Week is back for another year!
This year we’re doing something a little different, over the last three years we received a *lot* of submissions for the prompts for each day of the event. Despite doing our best to group them by kind and create broader categories that work to cover as many of the prompts we receive as possible, you all have submitted so many that we couldn’t do them all. So this year our prompts will be all the ones from previous years that didn’t make it into the schedule before! So this Sunday, May 12th 2024, we’ll be announcing this years prompts. We’re so excited and we hope you are too! This year you’ll have until July 28th to post your submissions and the event and reveals will be on the first full week of August, the 4th through the 10th!

Hey there lovelies!!
Due to the DDoS attack currently engaging the AO3 servers, we will be postponing Kenfetti Week Reveals! This just means that Day 2 will be as soon as the site is back up, and then from there we will continue on as normal!
We apologize for the inconvenience, but as we can't actually access the collection when AO3 is down, well will have to be patient and have a bit more hype prior to our reveals!!

The kid follows him into the alley.
He’s not actually a kid—he’s young, but he’s not that young. When Jango stops and turns to look at him again, he looks Jango in the eye, back very straight and blue eyes dark. He smiles, knowing and impatient, and then he comes closer, closer, closer. He stops when he’s close enough to touch, and then he frowns.
“You’re not like I imagined,” he says. He sounds disappointed. Jango folds his arms. “I don’t want this. I never did,” he replies. “Find someone else.”
The kid snorts. “It’s funny. You think it matters,” he says. He bends down until his nose almost brushes Jango. He smells of sweat and dirty hair and woodsmoke. He smirks. “It doesn’t.”
Jango lets the condescension wash over him, and doesn’t move, doesn’t shift. When he doesn’t get a reaction, the kid scowls, takes a step back. His blue eyes flash.
“It will find you,” he says. He takes a step back, then another. “It always does.”

Less than a week now left to go! We’re so excited to see what all of you create!!
Tutorial: How To Submit Works For Kenfetti Week 2023
As Kenfetti Week is a moderated event, you'll need to submit your works for approval by July 1st if you want them to appear in this year's AO3 subcollection. For those who have never used AO3 collections before, don't worry, the process is very easy and has two variations:
1. Once you’ve created your work, simply go to the Kenfetti Week 2023 Collection (AO3/collections/Kenfetti_Week_2023) and click the "Post to Collection" button—second button from the left, in the top right if you're on desktop and center-screen if you're on mobile. This will automatically post it to the collection once you have published your work. 2. Once you've created your work, go through your usual posting process, fill out all fields as normal, and then type Kenfetti_Week_2023 into the "Post to Collections/Challenges" box of the "Associations" section. Be sure to confirm it by either typing a comma or hitting enter. This will ensure that your work is submitted to the collection.
Please remember to tag all submissions with the corresponding prompt day and the year separated by a hyphen (e.g. “Day 3- 2023” or “Day 5- 2023”), for ease of moderation and the revealing of appropriate works.
Due to the semi-anonymous nature of the event, your works will be listed as "Unrevealed Work" until the relevant posting day, but you will still be able to see and edit your work as usual. Since it is an unrevealed work, if you do wish to edit your work after submitting it, you will need to navigate back to the Collection and access it via the Collection's works section because it will not appear on your personal AO3 profile until the collection is revealed.
It is also highly recommended that, on the day of each reveal, creators alter the publish date of your works to match (e.g. "9 July 2023" for Day 1, "15 July 2023" for Day 7). This is to prevent your work from appearing in the tags with the date on which it was initially published, rather than the date on which the work is revealed, and thus being lost several pages from the top of each tag.
Late submissions may still be accepted at mod discretion, but please keep in mind that Kenfetti Week 2023 Collection submissions are due by July 1st, not the day for each reveal. The mod team will be spending the intervening time looking over all submissions to make sure they follow event rules and give creators time to make any necessary adjustments before works go live. Depending on mod availability and number of submissions, the deadline may be adjusted, but if that happens, we will be sure to make an announcement about it.
When July 9th rolls around, the mods will reveal all works tagged "Day 1- 2023" and continue in that vein for the rest of the event week. If you post any links or works here on Tumblr over the course of Kenfetti Week, please feel free to tag it with #kenfetti week 2023 so we can easily find and reblog it! You can also @ this blog in the body of the post to make sure we don't miss it, or submit your link or work for posting on this blog if you have no Tumblr account of your own that it would be appropriate to post on.
After all works have been revealed and posted for each prompt day, we will make a round-up post with links to all relevant works; at the end of Kenfetti Week 2023, we will make a masterpost with links to each day's round-up posts. We hope this will make it easier for creators to have their works found by others without them being lost.

Alrighty, it is May 16th and at a whopping 300+ prompt suggestions, submissions are most definitely closed. Thank you to everyone who sent in their suggestions! We mods are working hard to bundle them into umbrella themes suitable for artists and writers both as well as Kenfetti itself.

Please submit only one prompt per form but feel free to submit the form as many times as you'd like!
