Pairings: This is a Bucky x Reader story but it’s an intricate slow burn. There will be multiple ships/relationships (some romantic, some sexual, some implied, some just hinted at) through the course of the story, including but not limited to Loki X Reader, Steve X Reader, Natasha X Reader.

Summary:

“There was a rule in Shield. Never send in The Gunslinger unless the situations already gone south. She’s a ‘break glass in case of emergency’ kind of agent. Or she was.” Natasha elaborated.  

“What is she now?” Steve asked.  

“A fucking corpse is what she’s supposed to be. We thought she went down with The Triskelion, found her body and everything. Even fooled me and Nat.” Clint sighed.  

Steve tilted his head at Natasha questioningly and she shrugged like it was no big deal, but there was a flicker of darkness in her eyes that betrayed her nonchalant attitude.  

“Ok, so why the Gunslinger? Not that it isn’t a cool name, but why?” Sam asked.  

“Because every mission she did was like the Wild West. She wasn’t refined or precise, but she was damn good at fucking shit up. Give that woman a gun and a day, she’d create enough anarchy to bring down a small country.” Clint snorted.  

“And she’s a crack-shot. She is to a gun what Clint is to a bow and arrow.” Natasha added.

Father (stark! daughter AU) part 1

Plot summary: When Tony Stark finds out that he had a teenage daughter through a phone call, he was over the moon at the thought of being a father. Unfortunately, his daughter is distant, difficult and refuses to even acknowledge him as her dad. He never would have thought in a million years that it would be a certain Peter Parker who would change everything.

With the taste of the bitter vodka running down his throat came the sweet sensation of burning, the intense feeling distracting Tony from the feeling of missing Pepper. He closed his eyes, relishing the few moments of forgetfulness before the sensation passed and the truth of the situation washed over him again like a tidal wave.

Reality was unforgiving and the reality was that Pepper was tired of Tony’s antics. He promised to change for her, she yelled, but she cried and told him that “some people don’t change.” Tony’s fist curled around his drink at the thought, how dare she accuse him of not trying to change? He postponed several of his Iron Man projects to spend more time with her. He always let Pepper know if he was going to be late for a date or had to cancel one for a meeting. He stopped sleeping around and stuck with her through every party, every social event, through every fucking thing.

The door of your labour opened with a soft squeaking, but you were so focused on your work that you did not notice it, untill you heard someone’s voice, coming from your right.

“Excuse me miss, i’m sorry if i’m interrupting you, but Mr.Fury would like to talk to you urgently, he is waiting for you in his office.” the beautiful composed woman in an elegant suit told you, making your head snap at her direction.

“oh yeah, thank you Jessica, i will rapidly go to meet him.” you smiled at her as she nodded, exiting from the room a second after.

You sighed in frustration as you tried to regain consciousness, after an entire night spent working non-stop on one of your latest projects. You pressed your hands on your face, slightly rubbing your eyes in the process, trying to smooth out the evident tiredness on it.

You couldn’t present yourself in this horrible status in front of your boss, so you decided to use some fresh water to make you look more presentable. You hurried to the bathroom, which was located in the room you were in, and leant on the sink, watching your figure in the mirror. Big dark circles were rounding your eyes and your skin was so pale that you could be easily mistaken for someone hill.

“what a beautiful lady we have here.” you ironically said chuckling, splashing some water on your face.

You istantly felt good due to the freshness and coldness of the liquid, which gave a relief to your burning eyes, you loved that feeling. In a second you were hurring down the hallway, running to get to the elevator as fast as you could, you couldn’t make Fury wait more, he did not like stragglers.

 During your path you were captured by Bucky Barnes’ figure, who was standing tall and thick next to Jessica, they were clearly talking about something, but you didn’t know what, you just knew that he was incredibly handsome. You were so busy with thinking about him that you suddenly hit something hard, making you stumble backwards, painfully hitting the floor with a noisy thrud.

“look at where you walk, idiot.” Rumlow shouted angrily at you.

You did not say a word as you slowly stood up, shame hitting you hard, making you blush profuselly.

“what? did the cat eat your tongue?.” he got closer to you, piercing eyes throwing daggers at your figure.

“i’m…sorry.” you softly whispered, not daring to look at him.

He obviously did not hear you and he was getting angrier and angrier with each passing minute.

“oh now i recognize you! You are that useless bitch, Zemo’s daughter! Do you know how many people your father killed?” Rumlow now was dangerously close to your face, big burning veins starting to form on his.

You started to panick, not knowing what do to. You knew how much terrible your father was, that’s why you were working so hard, you wanted to make up to his horrible actions someway, but you knew that it wouldn’t ever be enough, he was a monster.

“I…I’m…” you anxiously mumbled, now with your back pressed on the wall.

“he killed my brother too! You are going to pay for that.” he shouted madly, ready to punch you right in the  face.

You closed your eyes istinctively, ready to feel a sharp pain soon, but, surprisingly, it never came.

“this isn’t the right way to treat a lady.” a male voice said with evident anger.

You opened your eyes only to see Bucky with Rumlow’s fist in his metal hand.

“stay out of this, assassin.” he shouted, trying to free himself from the soldier’s strong grip, but it was all useless.

Your eyes widened in shock as you started to hear sounds of bones cracking, as Bucky was intensifying his hold, making Rumlow whimper in agony.

“now, say sorry to this young lady or i will make sure you do.” he said with a flat but demanding tone, which made your heart frenetically bump in your chest.

No one has ever taken their time to defend your honor in front of other people, you were stunned and amazed by what Bucky was doing for you in that moment, you have always knew that he wasn’t the frightening monster that everyone saw.

“Go to hell, asshole.” he said in return with gritted teeth, trying to hide that he was in pain.

Bucky sighed in frustration as he spinned Rumlow’s arm around his back, forcing it to be pressed on it. His face was now attached to the wall too and you couldn’t help it but smirk at how the cards on the table turned.

“say sorry.” Bucky repeated in a flat tone again and with gritted teeth. You could see that he was starting to lose his temper.

“Fuck it…i’m…sorry.” Rumlow closed his eyes in dull ache, whispering his apology in moans.

“was that so hard to say?” the soldier said ironically, eventually setting the agent free from his tight grip.

“you are both crazy, you will definitely get along well.”

Rumlow shouted in frustration, hurring down the hallway trying to escape from the shameful situation he was in. You started to breath properly again as you sighed in relief. What an awful day, you thought.

“are you hurt, lady?” Bucky asked you with concern in his stare, leaning towards your figure.

“no, i’m fine…well, i’m fine thanks to you, so… thank you for defending me.” you shyly replied to him, lowering your gaze to avoid his piercing and attractive blue eyes.

“anytime…?” he tilted his head encouraging you to tell him your name.

“y/n.” you smiled at him, cheeks blushing profuselly.

“y/n..” he soflty repeated it, a small smile creeping onto his face. You have never loved how your name sounded until now.

“and i guess you are Bucky Barnes” you told him, chuckling a little. It was tremendally obvious that he was him, his metal arm shouted it pretty clearly.

“how did you discover it?.” he laughed with a big shiny smile, showing you his white teeth and two cute dimples at the corners of his mouth.  

You laughed in return, feeling something that you haven’t felt for a while now: happiness and comfort. It has been hard since your father became one of the most wanted killers of all times. People started to avoid you, just because they linked you to him. They looked at he and you being relatives as a chance to insult you and to accuse you for your father’s action, which they have been never your fault. You certainly weren’t like him, god, you didn’t even met him, you have recently discovered about it. You grew up in an adoptive family, you worked hard and now you were working for shield and it was all thanks to you, not him. You disliked him and you were going to do everything in your power to defeat him.

“where were you going? if i may ask” Bucky asked you, making you regain consciousness from your thoughts.

“i was going to meet Fury, he needs to talk to me.” you replied shily, lowering your gaze again and biting your lower lip a bit.

“well, lucky for you i need to go to meet him too, should we go together? I promise that i will defend you again if necessary.” His smily gaze met yours, making your heart skip a bit in the process.

“why not” you smiled at him as you started to walk next to each other, making your way towards the elevator.

“so you are Zemo’s daughter, i would never say that” he said, letting you enter first into the lift.

“yeah…it’s complicated”  you sighed as your mood changed quickly, you hated talking about him.

“i didn’t mean to upset you, i’m sorry” he told you with concern in his voice and eyes.

“don’t worry, you didn’t…it’s just that i dont’t like talking about him, that’s all” you smiled at him in reassurance, you didn’t want to make him feel bad about it.

A bip echoed in the small space, indicating that you reached the selected floor. The doors opened and as before, Bucky let you pass first, giving you a small smile. You smiled back again, cheeks blushing for the 100th time today. You both soon reached Fury’s office, a black big door at the end of the hallway. Bukcy knocked on the door, only to hear seconds after a loud frustrated “come in” coming from behind it.

“ oh you are finally here, now let’s get done with this shit” Fury mumbled from behind his desk, looking at both of you with his costant annoyed expression.

“what’s the matter Fury?” Bucky asked with a questioning look.

“well i see that you both know each other, so that’s another thing done…I wanted to talk to you about y/n’s latest project, your new arm. She has been working on it from a while now but she will need your coperation too, so from now on you will work toghether, hope everything is clear.”

Fury said casually, putting his feet on the table and interlacing his hands in a praying pose.

Bucky’s shocked  and  interrogative gazed leant on you and you just scrolled your shoulders, not knowig what really to say, all of that was true, you were working on his new arm and you two would have eventually met sooner or later, you needed to try it on him too.

“it’s all true… hopefully this new arm will help you defeat my father, so it’s the least i can do” your mouth twisted a little, expressing your true thoughts to him. You were doing this to put an end to Zemo’s carrier and you were determined to do so, whatever it would take.

“well…i can’t wait to try it then” Bucky smiled at you and you swore that you could hear your stomach twist in the process.

“let’s get started then”
