Author, editor, fangirl.

As some of you know, I am a volunteer at my local LGBTQ+ Youth Center. We have a library and I am the unofficial librarian. We are a nonprofit and rely entirely on donations. And contrary to Boomer rhetoric, kids DO still read books.

I made a wish list for the library at Bookshop.org. Bookshop.org helps to support independent bookstores but works as easily as Amazon. You just buy books from the website and Bookshop takes care of the rest. I've chosen Whitelam Books to be the recipient of the profits from the book sales. They are a local women owned independent bookstore.

Anyway, that's my long winded way of saying please buy us some books! You'd be helping out LGBTQ+ youth and boy do they need things to make them smile.

Thanks in advance and please share if you can!

foreshadowing done well makes me go feral like thereโ€™s NOTHING better than getting to the end a book or an important storyline moment and realising that the author laced information so intricately into their writing that werenโ€™t noticeable upon first read but when you read back sections theyโ€™re light giant red flags like wow writing is amazing

the best stories contain two stories: the one you read the first time, and the one you read every time after that

I'm a simple bitch. i believe the purpose of government should be to improve the lives of its citizens and protect its most vulnerable members. unfortunately i live in a day and age where this gets me labeled an enemy of the state

Remember the bit in the book that's like -

Jonathan Harker: The only good vampire is a staked vampire.

Mina: I got bitten. I'm turning into a vampire.

Jonathan: No. We're turning into a vampire. Satan here we come.

โ€œWe tend to think of the erotic as an easy, tantalizing sexual arousal. I speak of the erotic as the deepest life force, a force which moves us toward living in a fundamental way.โ€
