Speechless, he was absolutely speechless and considering he’d spent the day giving speeches that was saying something. His mouth opened and closed then opened again along with his eyes. Was he really seeing this? Was she really here? Gracie could see her, Gracie was jumping on her and getting her pets. So then why did his brain keep insisting she wasn’t there. 
“Can’t be.” He whispered, shaking his head, no, she was gone, found something, someone better. “Stop barking Gracie.” He sighed, defeated as he shook his head and headed back into the kitchen. “She’s gone Gracie, it’s not real.”

Running her fingers through her fur Lydia kept her eyes on Luke the entire time. His words cut mentioning that she was gone even as she stood physically in front of him. Was this his way of not wanting to see her. Her chest felt as if it was going to cave in as he stepped away so easily and retreated back. “I’m sorry.” She finally got out as her eyes remained on him even as he walked away. Completely standing straight up she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as she took the hint he didn’t wish to see her.

Luke paused, he could have sworn he heard someone calling him but that was impossible. It’d been years since he heard the voice in person but not since he’d heard it. He had a few saved voicemails he listened to when he was feeling desperate. He hadn’t listened to them in a while, his therapist told him to move on. Something about it not being healthy to be hearing her voice after so many years. He rolled his eyes but had agreed to stop. He paused for a moment, shaking his head, no, she wasn’t here. She left without a note or a clue, just dropped off the face of the earth. “Stop barking Gracie.” He scolded the white lab who had scrambled to the door as he went to the kitchen. “Gracie stop bark-” His lips suddenly felt like they’d been fused together. She wasn’t here, she couldn’t be could she? 
Gracie’s paws did not go through the body when she jumped on it and suddenly his mouth was dry. She was here, Holy shit she was here. “Lydia?” He managed to croak out, frozen to his spot on the wood as he took her in. 

He should hate her. He should never want to see her, have her around, even be within distance of his home. For all, she knew Lydia could have been turned away within seconds. Then there would be nothing she could do. The moment they had returned to Beacon Hills her first thoughts were for Luke. There were so many different questions running in her head. As the door opened and the lab leaped at her the female's first reaction was to pet the animal. “Hi.” She greeted the animal before her sights lifted to look at him once more. Her heart sank just hearing the way her name left his lips. “Hello, Luke.”

Laying eyes on the alpha for what felt like the first time in forever the banshee gave the smallest of a smile. “You could say hello. I won’t bite unless you ask of course.” The female teased with a chuckle hoping to ease any possible tension that there could be between them. “How have you been?”

The disappearance was her own fault. Would the dark-haired male even desire to see her after all this time? Hazel eyes fell upon his house while her heartbeat began to pound in a way he had not done in years. Taking the final steps towards the large home there was hesitation even as she brought her limb up. Giving the subtle knock to allow him to know he had a visitor even if she might have been unwanted for all she knew. As the heavy set door opened her eyes lifted to examine him. “Luken.”

“I know.” He groaned, “But I don’t wanna go to a meeting. It’s boring and I have to wear a suit and a stupid tie and shoes. Why can’t we just stay on vacation forever?” He lamented even though it’d only been the weekend. “What are you doing today?”

“You look so handsome in a suit and I already have it laid out for you so you don’t have to worry about it.” She told him with a chuckle as she ran her fingers through his hair. “We can’t because that means we will lose touch with the world,” Lydia said. “Wait for you to get home.”

“Not like this. Do you realize how much you could have been hurt? How you could have been shattered into a million pieces with one hit?” She asked having to look away in order to keep her thoughts in the right place. A shaky breath leaving her petal lips as she forced her eyes towards him again.

“Stiles... Thank you. I’m glad that you didn’t let go.” She admitted through a whisper unsure of how to actually respond to the other. Her lips pressing into a thin line as her thoughts began to take over and her emotions slowly making their way to the surface. “Even when I tried.”

Her eyes widened in surprise when the actual novel fell out of his hands. Raising her brows at him the female couldn’t help quickly rolling her eyes at him. “You were right.” She admitted.

“No,” He groaned, “I don’t wanna get up. You can’t make me.” He mumbled, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her into him. He kissed her cheek, “Go back to sleep. We can stay here forever, nothing bad will happen.”

“Luke.” She repeated only to chuckle when he pulled her back just as quick. Groanin some she knew that this wasn’t going to help with him getting out of the bed. “Nothing bad is going to happen. You have a meeting today.”
