Please stop making posts discouraging people from voting, especially if you don't live in the US. This isn't your fight, and you seem to think it doesn't matter who wins to you anyway. Let those of us who won't survive another Trump term deal with it. Hi. Me. Anarchist and socialist ideals are cool and all, but I won't get to be a part of them because I'll be fucking dead. This is not an exaggeration. I am 26 and I expect to be dead in 2-3 years if Trump wins. If Biden wins not only will I survive, but I will have the energy to fight his old racist ass on every awful thing he does.

Hey guess what: Trump has plans to eliminate Disability next year. He has the authority to do it by the method he is choosing.

Biden plans to expand Disability, increasing the amount you receive as well as granting ACTUAL MARRIAGE EQUALITY FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

I had to call off my engagement so that I can apply for Disability, but if Trump wins it won't even matter because Disability won't exist this time next year.

The idea that there is no difference between Trump and Biden is co-morbid with apathy for your disabled comrades. If Trump wins, I will probably lose access to my medications and be forced to work so my family can survive. The problem is that literally any job can and will kill me. I don't expect to make it halfway through 2023 if Trump wins the election. And that's just me. How many thousands or tens of thousands or more are in my situation? How many hundreds of thousands are WORSE OFF than I am?

Vote blue so there is a politician in office who we can actually fight on his bullshit. Don't stop protesting. Don't stop calling and writing. Push for the end of gerrymandering and the electoral college. But make sure your Disabled friends and loved ones are there to see the future you're trying to create.

Look, Trump is going to contest the election results in November. He’s been setting it up for weeks now, he has a team of lawyers who are already preparing for it. (One of them formerly consulted on the situation with the Post Office this year, which isn’t concerning at all.) He’s going to take it to the Supreme Court because he takes everything to the Supreme Court. He seated 2 justices already. What if he gets to seat 3? Seriously, the map could look like this with red and blue flipped:

And he’s going to contest it. What happens if he has 3 justices who all owe their seats to him? Someone who knows how to curry favor and loyalty to only him, not the country or rule of law? Someone who got the entire GOP to start saying the quiet part loud? Some Senators are saying they won’t support a vote before the election. Good. CALL. They don’t get a moment’s piece until after Inauguration Day in January. November isn’t enough. If McConnell thinks he can get a conservative seated in a lame duck session, he’ll do it.

Oh, and in between making all those phone calls, VOTE. Vote blue all the way down. No Republicans, no third party. Biden not progressive enough for you? Too bad. Without him, we will lose Roe v. Wade, we will lose Brown v. Board, we will lose Obergefell v. Hodges. I’m being only slightly hyperbolic in saying that they might decide that Korematsu v. United States and Plessy v. Ferguson weren’t actually heinous violations of human rights.

The true deadly sins

Lust

Not a sin- feeling sexual attraction, sex with consenting partners, masturbation, consuming pornographic media, having several sexual partners, sex before mariage. IT’S A SIN WHEN- the person projects lust onto an unwilling recipient person and does not take into account their wants or consent. Rape, harassment, sexual assault, catcalling, dick pics.

Gluttony

Not a sin- food, enjoying food, cooking, eating sweets, eating meat. In the larger sense, accumulating material things you enjoy, like books or collectibles or whatever.  IT’S A SIN WHEN- It deprives other people of what they need.

Envy

Not a sin: Wanting things you see other people have, like money, power, fame. IT’S A SIN WHEN: This is how you define people, and stop respecting them as humans. It’s a sin when you use them for what they have and what they can bring you.

Greed

Not a sin: Wanting financial security, working hard for the things you want.  IT’S A SIN WHEN: Your own financial growth depends on keeping other people impoverished and suffering.

Pride

Not a sin: Being proud of your accomplishments, liking your looks, dressing up IT’S A SIN WHEN: It stops you from accepting your faults and seeing how you can be wrong, not admitting that you can better yourself. 

Wrath

Not a sin: Righteous anger at situations, being mistreated, seeing other people suffer, at the injustice of the world. Self-defense. Revolution.  IT’S A SIN WHEN: Violence towards defenceless people, hitting your partner or your kids,.  Violence fuelled by intolerance and bigotry. 

Sloth

Not a sin: Resting. Sleeping. Taking a day or a year off. Being unproductive. Playing videogames. IT’S A SIN WHEN: You stay inactive when action is required. When people need you and you’d rather do nothing.

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT AND GIVES POWER BACK TO SO MANY PEOPLE

There’s another definition of Gluttony that is less about food specifically and more about extravagance and wastefulness. For example, it is Gluttonous for a nobleman to provide himself with a feast that he cannot possibly eat himself when his countrymen are starving. It is Gluttonous for someone to horde their money and never use it despite having a lot of it.

This definition overlaps with Greed and Sloth a bit, but I like it because it gives you a little more thematic wiggle room if you’re trying to design a set of characters or locations after the seven deadly sins and you don’t want to make Gluttony THE FOOD ONE.
