I'm looking for a poem or extended piece of verse about Yocheved/Moses' mother for Shiva Hamlet 2.0. Bonus points if the piece is pre-19th century. I've been searching for weeks and so far, I'm not really finding anything that works. If you've got something that's not specifically about Yocheved but does deal with a Jewish mother/matriarch, that's also good.
The Penguin Book of Hebrew verse (which is available to borrow on Archive.org) has a collection of poems from the 8th-11th century and became part of the Italian nusach for Simchat Torah; the last poem is this Aramaic piyut:

In 1997 and 1998, olive oil was the most adulterated agricultural product in the European Union, prompting the E.U.โs anti-fraud office to establish an olive-oil task force. (โProfits were comparable to cocaine trafficking, with none of the risks,โ one investigator told me.) The E.U. also began phasing out subsidies for olive-oil producers and bottlers, in an effort to reduce crime, and after a few years it disbanded the task force. Yet fraud remains a major international problem: olive oil is far more valuable than most other vegetable oils, but it is costly and time-consuming to produceโand surprisingly easy to doctor. Adulteration is especially common in Italy, the worldโs leading importer, consumer, and exporter of olive oil. In Puglia, which produces about forty per cent of Italyโs olives, growers have been in a near-constant state of crisis for more than a decade. โThousands of olive-oil producers are victims of this โdruggedโ market,โ Antonio Barile, the president of the Puglia chapter of a major farmersโ union, told me, referring to illegal importations of seed oils and cheap olive oil from outside the E.U., which undercut local farmers. Instead of supporting small growers who make distinctive, premium oils, the Italian government has consistently encouraged quan-tity over quality, to the benefit of large companies that sell bulk oil. It has not implemented a national plan for oil production, has employed a byzantine system for distributing agricultural subsidies, and has often failed to enforce Italian laws and E.U. regulations intended to prevent fraud. The government has been so lax in pursuing some oil crimes that it can seem complicit. In 2000, the European Court of Auditors reported that Italy was responsible for eighty-seven per cent of misappropriated E.U. subsidies to olive-oil bottlers in the preceding fifteen years, and that the government had recovered only a fraction of the money.
Iโve been reading Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil by Tom Mueller, and wow, the things that get sold as โextra virginโ olive oil are kind of scary, especially if you have any allergies. Or if youโre trying to use olive oil for health reasons โ youโre likely paying a premium for something with none of the benefits youโre looking for.
Also, you could write at least 8 different genre novels about skullduggery in the olive oil trade, starting with a murder mystery and working your way out, because thereโs just so much to unpack.

YO FUCK THESE GUYS my mom is allergic to corn and some of them were cut with corn oil. We very aggressively research any oil we purchase now.

I haven't purchased a HP item in close to a decade - I use the books I already had as doorstops or to prop a laptop up for meetings nowadays.
There is NO "death of the author" with JK Rowling - she controls and continues to profit from her IP, and uses that money to fund hate groups.

It isn't about cancelling problematic media, idgaf. We're capable of reading books we already own with a critical eye.
It's about not giving more power to someone who is using it to materially harm our community.
This is the woman who, as soon as a new hate crime law came in, started daring the police to arrest her for deadnaming and misgendering trans women. She is part of a campaign to overturn the current gender equality act and tear trans rights to shreds. Any support shown to her by purchasing her products and her BS is used to shore up her argument that "the silent majority" support her.
Do not give her that support.
Point: Paying my federal taxes fills me with rage because I know the amount I'm paying is more than any billionaire and I know the money is going to fund death and destruction across the globe.
Counterpoint: my state taxes are going to a government that uses the money to improve infrastructure, fund schools, and build our social safety net.

Biden is the best case scenario for Palestinians. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying.
There is no arguing with the reality: Biden is the only choice that prevents the wholesale death and destruction of both Palestinians and Americans. People saying that they cannot vote for Biden are refusing to acknowledge the facts of the single issue that they claim is their motivation.
Meanwhile the US will continue to work on providing humanitarian aid which Israel is treating as a potential means of smuggling arms to Hamas, which should be a sign of how tenuous the relationship really is, and how difficult a resolution to this war will be to actually bring about.

Thinking more about the โ95 Pride and Prejudice and the fucking BODY LANGUAGE. Colin Firth spends every single second of the episodes before this one looking like he wants to climb out of his own body and crawl beneath the surface of the earth. He never smiles. He wears a sense of superiority like armor. This goes on for roughly THREE HOURS OF TELEVISION.
So when he SMILES LIKE THAT?!?!?! We are seeing a man unclench for the first time in the entire series and embrace fucking JOY and hope!
