When you drink a hot beverage and you feel the heat spilling and blooming in your chest… There is nothing like it!

nothing worse than when the premise of something captivates you but then it sucks ass. bro you put this idea out into the world and you didn’t even do it a shred of justice

Obsessed with fanart on Tumblr because

You’ll see the most beautiful depiction of a character you could ever dream of. It’s truly transcendent art that clearly had hours and hours poured into it so this wonderful creator could share a fraction of their love for this fandom.

And then the artist captioned it as “scrunkly little bastard man”

When a character doesn’t realize they’ve been, like, shot or whatever and they hand brushes against their side and comes away wet with blood, and they’re just staring at it like wtf is this and then their knees just totally give out on them and they sink down, maybe gasping a little as the reality finally hits them. That’s good stuff.

I see that, and raise you a character who knows they’ve been shot, but waits until the rest of their crew is out of sight to put their hand against the slowly spreading stain of blood on their shirt, then trying to steady their breathing so they can follow without letting on how injured they are.

Okay but like the character who doesn’t realize they’ve been hurt trying to see if everyone else is okay only to slowly realize that everyone is looking at them with mounting horror. Then they touch their side to find it’s wet and oh no

all 3 of you are evil but i admire, respect, and fear you

Not to be that person but I feel like sometimes Shrek being so memeable prevents people from seeing how truly revolutionary and radical the first two films really were. A children’s fairy tale that argues that no, ugliness does not mean bad and beautiful does not mean good. A fairy tale that argues that everyone deserves love, even those cast out of the margins of society. A fairy tale that dares to have a female protagonist not be conventionally attractive or helpless. A fairy tale that argues that love does not happen at first sight, but is grown through mutual respect and interest. That’s pretty fucking sick if you ask me

okay but real talk Princess Fiona being 'ugly' and burping and eating gross food and accidentally singing so hard she killed a bird and even as a human just looking like a normal ass person and not a stunning gorgeous perfect princess??

fucking radical to child me who was always called ugly and gross by other kids, she was actually a princess I could identify with and relate to, and she was never demonised for these things, they weren't flaws, that was just how she was and that was okay

I watched that movie on repeat and that part at the end where she's an ogre and says 'I don't understand, I'm supposed to be beautiful' and Shrek says 'but you ARE beautiful' it changed my fucking life

it changed my entire worldview it changed the entire definition of beauty to me

I love the memes but fuck yes we should acknowledge what this movie meant to some of us who had never seen a movie buck every Disney trope like that and change the standard

and also Shrek 2 was a cinematic masterpiece with one of the greatest movie scores of all time with the most LIT AS FUCK climax of any movie ever and I will die on this hill thank you

I live my life under the basic principle that people know their minds, bodies, genders, and orientations better than I do so I just take them at their word when they say they are a thing.

"But people could be faking for-" I don't care. I would rather show someone a kindness they don't need than not show them one they do.

*taps a microphone* hey, uh, anyone see that new tumblr update where long posts are partially hidden? but when you click “expand” the posts aren’t even that long? yeah, heh, it looks like tumblr’s got the same definition of “long” that my ex-boyfriend did. *two drums and a cymbal fall from the ceiling and i am instantly killed*

Chills. I can't imagine my own high school showing up like this less than a decade ago to protest disgusting legislation like Florida's Don't Say Gay bill. The support Gen Z shows for the LGBTQ community is breathtaking.

The fight goes on. Keep it up.

I think you all need to know the consequences of this brave action.

The kid who started the walkout at the original school was indefinitely suspended, even though he had permission for the demonstration (their excuse is that he got permission for the walkout, but not for the little Pride flags he handed out). Other participating kids at other schools have similarly been punished.

Teachers who supported students walking out are also being punished, fired, blacklisted from working at other schools.

Homophobic kids are ratting out their fellow students and teachers for supporting the walkout to get them in trouble with school administrations.

The consequences are continuing.

So yes, applaud this - this is great, and it’s brave, and it’s inspiring. But be aware of what the reaction has been.
