NODDING, SHE AGREED. Even though Scarlett still worked her job which had many implications for her, she just couldn’t give up on it. The drive was peaceful, when Sunny made sure she was calm. “You sound like a mother..”
although she didn’t have a car of her own, sunny was still a good driver, taking them to the hospital without many issues. she let out a scoff at that. “ please, i’m not old enough to be anyone’s mother so don’t make me feel like i am. ”
SUNNY WAS LIKE A SISTER, SHE NEVER HAD. The only person she trusted with her life while she was in this current state, as she was ready and comfy in the passenger seat. Turning on the seat warmer. “I hate this..but I’m glad you came..”
making sure everything was in place and putting her bag on the back seat, sunny turned to her and smiled lightly. “ it’ll be fine. i promise it won’t be as bad as you think and, when it’s over, we can go out and grab something to eat. how does that sound? ”
PASSING SUNNY THE KEYS TO HER CAR. Scarlett knew she shouldn’t drive but sometimes she had to but to take it careful than her usual recklessness. “Yeah, let’s go..” She smiled sadly, walking out of the shop to her car. Remembering why she hate the hospital so much.
despite not having her own car ( sunny found it unecessary ), she was a fairly good driver and it came in handy sometimes. with a smile, she took the key and walked out of the restaurant, taking a quick look inside before turning to the car and getting in the driver’s seat.
“OKAY, NO RUSH”. They didn’t have to be there entirely on time at all, she was always early. Looking around at the busy people eating and having fun living their lives, she was on the downside of the spectrum. “I want to get better..”
she didn’t really need a lot of time. going back inside, sunny reached for her coat and purse, making sure everything she needed was inside of it before stopping next to the girl. some last words were given to the part-timer that would be taking care of her restaurant before she turned. “ shall we go? ”
“YEP!”. Sunny was the only female she had trust since her mother when she first came to Korea. The cafe was like a second home, the older female would always join and take her to her appointments so she wasn’t alone. Also scold her if she got hurt during her detective job. “Ready?”
she wouldn’t be the first person sunny had taken under wing and cared for -- even if she pretended that she wasn’t doing any of that. euntak had been the first and perhaps after her, the restaurant had gone soft. “ just a second. i need to grab my purse. ”

“SUNNY!”. Scarlett called in her cafe, looking around for the older female. “Sunny? you said you’d come hospital with me..” Sighing as she waited near the counter for the female. / @sxlvation
she was in the back, making a few arrangements in the kitchen to make sure everything was fine when she needed to leave. while she trusted her employees and part-timers, some things were better to take care of it on your own. hearing her voice over the customers, she took a peek through the door. “ is it time already? ”

it seemed to be his main problem lately whenever he was outside his apartment or the police station. pyxis wasn’t quite sure if they were staring because they found his presence odd, or simply for his looks. either way, the excessive looks made him a bit UNCOMFORTABLE. ❛ it was just a joke ! ❜ he laughed softly, and then he followed her movements and wrapped his arms snugly around her frame. ❛ besides, i wouldn’t blame you at all if you actually wanted to eat me. ❜ pyxis bit at his lip and stared at her mouth, wondering if he would get in trouble for giving her a kiss in the middle of the restaurant. well, it certainly wasn’t a crime if he did. ❛ hmm … i think there’s a greek restaurant around here. i’m not sure. you’re the one living here, remember ? shouldn’t you be showing me around ? ❜
when she was still younger, sunny was used to the stares. she was a pretty woman, after all. and oh, she loved them. but time passed and while she didn’t get any uglier, she also didn’t get any younger. people would start pitying her for being single at that age, calling her things she hated more than anything. of course, things had improved since she found him. not that she ever cared much about what people said in the first place. “ that doesn’t matter ” she reprimanded him softly, not really mad and mostly joking. with a subtle smile, she shook her head side to side at his words. “ when we’re alone ” sunny repeated, gaze drifting to his lips as he bit down the bottom one. and as much as she would like a kiss, she wasn’t the type to do those things in public. “ haven’t you been here long enoug to know by now? ”

“Oh come on unnie! You and food are on total wave lengths,” Not to mention, they were two different topics to begin with, “you being the greatest of course~” She quickly added, flattering the woman even more. She was always grateful for having someone like Sunny by her side as a friend and drinking buddy. “When you’ve got a random schedule like mine, I always end up eating too much.” Especially when it came to deadlines, her desk would be filled with energy drinks and snacks, and takeout was her best friend. One of these days, her diet will be the death of her and she wouldn’t be surprised. “Even with an alarm, I think it’ll be safer to install a security system and maybe a camera out front?” Yiseul heard that the area’s been getting bad with some robberies. “Plus, you close up pretty late.”
“ just comparing me to food is almost offensive ” she replied. despite her serious tone and words, she was actually just joking. sunny did it a lot, even if a lot of people didn’t seem to notice that it was. “ don’t try to flatter me just because i’m buying you food ” she did enjoy the flattering though, even if sunny wasn’t the vain type. well, sort of. she took very good care of herself but compliments didn’t really matter that much to her. unless it was from someone she had her eyes on but sunny doubted that would happen anytime soon -- if ever again in her life, after she had allowed the reaper to believe she lost her memories. “ letting your schedule decide when or how much food you eat is no good for you ” not that it was any of her business to control what yiseul ate but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to give her advice she hadn’t asked for. sometimes, sunny was almost like a mother to all the younger friends she had. she couldn’t help but feel protective and worry for them. “ do you really think that is necessary? it hasn’t been that bad lately ”

“…I know…” But the uncertainty is what left her with great fear. Before Aomine, she knew what to expect of her daily life. Every morning. Every afternoon. Every evening. It all consistent of a schedule of some sort, yet here she is, simply winging things along with the hopes that he does not reject her. For once, total control is lost. In younger days there was a sense of power in the sense that there lay a back up plan. Yet… here she has to face it all. Bear it all. “…Sorry. I didn’t mean to bring you down or anything…”
the uncertainty would always be worrying, especially the older you got. sunny had never been the reckless type but now, more than ever, she had realized how cautious she had grown with age. not that routine was always good, but it was definitely reassuring. sometimes it was necessary to step out of that comfort zone too, to make some change in your life to be happy. “ you didn’t. ” sunny smiled lightly. as much as her past was sensitive topic for her, she had learned how to deal and make her peace with it. “ i do hope you make your decision soon. it gives such a sense of relief. ”

❛ i’m your idiot, though, so that’s gotta make up for it, right ? ❜ pyxis had always been bold and playful in nature, but it seemed to show even more whenever she was around. she reminded him of who he used to be before the break up with his fiancee － before nearly everything he worked for went down the drain. ❛ well, where do you want to go ? ❜ he said, leaning his body against the counter as he waited for her to finally come over. the restaurant seemed busy, and it took him a moment to realize that some people were staring. ❛ what do you feel like eating ? … me ? ❜ another teasing smile curled on his lips before he shook his head. ❛ i’m joking … again. ❜
she was hardly the type to be playful around others but his own playfulness seemed to bring that side to her too. it was hard not to smile when she was around pyxis, despite how rare sunny actually smiled. patting down her skirt, she walked around the counter to meet him, hand placed over his in a brief and subtle movement. “ sometimes. ” the restaurant owner smiled lightly at him before turning to the part-timer, letting her know that she would be gone for lunch and giving any instructions necessary for while she was away. once that was done, she laced her arms with him, humming quietly as she thought about his questions. rolling her eyes, sunny let out a quiet chuckle. “ leave that kind of joke for when we’re alone ” she couldn’t help but notice the customers staring too. “ what about greek food? are there any restaurants around here? ” although she wasn’t in new york for long, she wouldn’t doubt if there was.

Nothing left huh… If she took this path, there will be no returning to her family. They had made their final warning clear. They offered her a last opportunity but now… well, she wasn’t sure. In younger years, despite her struggles with expectations, misunderstandings and maltreatment, Ayana was still hopeful of her family’s acceptance. If she followed her role, they would come to adore her. If she married an appropriate partner, they would come to be proud of her. If she bore children, they would come to acknowledge her worth… but choosing between a life between duty and love left the weight on her shoulders to grow heavy. If she stepped away from the world she knew for a life with Aomine and things didn’t work out, it meant there was nothing left to go back to. Was she truly ready to gamble everything for an opportunity that had no guarantee?

sunny hoped ayana wouldn’t have to go down the same path as she did. she didn’t know the full extent of her problems but she hoped it wasn’t as bad as hers -- as sad as hers. as much as it had been her choice to hold on to her memories, sunny didn’t wish that to anyone else. it was better to remain ignorant. still, sunny believed that some things just needed to be done, despite how hard it must be. it was up to ayana to decide it if was worth it, if it was necessary. after she had made that decision, she would know what she had to do. of course sunny was aware not everyone was so decided and determined as she was, especially when it came to these things. sunny smiled gently at her friend. “ it’s normal to be afraid. anyone would. i did. it’s an important decision to make and i don’t think you’ll ever stop being afraid, but that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong thing to do. ”

The idea of losing people had been of little value to the woman. There is no use for relationships unless one could merit from it… yet despite this thinking, the decision seemed far more overwhelming than she believed. Rational thoughts blended cruelly with emotional. Utmost insecurities silently making known how much of a fool she was being for breaking away from a forged path. Hearing her friend speak only set off more questions; perhaps none that could be answered in this very moment. “…Have you ever gone back?”
it had hurt her to leave her brother and euntak behind but there was no doubt to her that it was necessary. she had promised wangyeo that he would never hear from her again in this lifetime as his punishment and this was the only way to do it. sunny wouldn’t lie and say that it had been easy but it had been her decision. all she hoped was that ayana wouldn’t have to take such drastic measures herself. “ i haven’t. there’s nothing left for me back there anymore. ”
