Announcing the Obimaul Creation Event of 2022

Do you love Obi-Wan and Maul as characters and have a particular fondness for all the ways these characters can interact? Well, let me continue my best impression of a shady used cars salesperson as I tell you about the opportunity you have to show that love!

Namely, the Obimaul Creation Event, a month-long event for creators to craft a transformative work that shows their appreciation for the obimaul relationship!  A couple of us obimaul fans put this event together after seeing that these two did not seem to have their own “ship week” or similar event. We will officially be holding this event throughout March of 2022, and we are open to creators of all kinds! Here are the rules of the 2022 Obimaul Creation Event: 

  • Platonic obimaul is 100 percent welcome! We just want the focus to be on their relationship to each other, however that may be perceived.
  • Poly ships are also welcome! However, the main focus should still be obimaul and please tag it as a poly ship in case not everyone is into it. 
  • All transformative works are welcome, from detailed headcanons, fanart, fanfic, gifsets, moodboards, playlists, photos of cosplay, exquisitely crafted joke posts, etc. If you put any effort into making it, it counts! 
  • All gender headcanons of the two are welcomed. 
  • Do as many or as few prompts as you’d like. You can combine several into one, whatever suits you. If you have an idea for obimaul that doesn't follow any of the prompts, please feel free to submit it anyway! The prompts are here to HELP you, not LIMIT you. 
  • NSFW is ok. Just please mark it as such for those who wish to avoid it. 
  • No terfs, racists, homophobes allowed. 
  • Again, have fun!

Instead of a numbered day structure with prompts, we have a prompt bank for creators to choose from! Do them whenever you please!  Prompts are under the read more and are all SFW. While this event is officially for March, we understand life gets hectic so please submit whenever you wish to! We also ask participants use #obimaulevent2022 as a way for us to more easily keep track of event submissions! Feel free to also let us know if you post your work on ao3, as we will have a collection over there for fanworks.

Hey, wanted to thank everyone again who’s participated so far in our obimaul creation event! March isn’t quite over yet (and we’ll likely continue to accept submissions into early April at least, too!) So if you want to create something, now’s the time! 

Remember, it can be any transformative effort, not just fanart or fanfiction! Looking forward to seeing more of your guys’ creativity!

Enemies to lovers is about:

  • The drama
  • The angst
  • The extremely complex layers of human nature
  • The yearning
  • The realisation
  • The first ever kiss
  • The exhilaration that comes afterwards
  • The “youre not alone” cmon guys this is textbook by now
  • The hasty kisses afterwards
  • That erotically intense moment in the story where they have stand off in front of each other, angry and hurt and never breaking eye contact, weapons drawn and pointed to the other ones throat, painfully torn in their decision, breathing and swallowing hard, knowing very well what they have to do but neither of them actually going through with it, stuck forever amidst what they stand for and what they yearn for, knowing that theres such a fine line between wanting to kill the other one and wanting to die for the other one, and that that line is about to be carved (in blood or lust could go either way you don’t know!) by the very weapon that they are now gripping and pointing at potentially the only other being in the world who makes them feel witnessed, needed and truly seen

The swipe of brilliant blue under Maul’s collarbone was unexpected, to say the least. It was matched by the red smeared over Obi-Wan’s knuckles, a dark, bloody crimson that had made his heart race with fear and anger whenever he’d seen a shade too close to it since Theed.

The galaxy seemed to halt around them as though holding its breath, waiting to see what would happen next.

One accidental touch changes everything. The fate of the galaxy shifting as colours bloom over the skin of foes. But trust is difficult in such trying times, and convincing Maul to name his Master is a task that seems impossible.
