Summary:
You're a thief. Captain America catches you with stolen Stark tech in your hands and you barely manage to escape his arrest. Continuing to meet in the heart of action, will Steve Rogers catch you at last? What will he do if he does? And will your explosive attraction to each other leave you in danger of having your own heart stolen?
In the volatile world of the global black market, you find yourself right in the middle between the ruthless vile filth of the underworld and the Avengers, the defenders of the world, led by the ultimate hero, Captain America.
As a skilled thief, you've made a living of treading the Avengers's shadows as they hunt down and retrieve stolen Stark tech on it's way into the black market.
In the chaos and confusion of the aftermaths of the busts, you scurry away with smaller and larger trinkets which you sell for profit yourself to your vast network of underground contacts.
It's a tough life. Solitary, merciless and unfair. But it's one you've accepted. That is, until you turn the corner and find Captain America's full, undivided attention on you.
Note: This is very much a feel good fluffy and action-packed little tale, embroidered with desire, sexual tension and trimmed with a heavy dose of angst at the end before a happy ending.
Sooooo, while working on In the balance chapter 8, this cute idea of Steve and reader chasing each other around the black market world popped into my head, and lo and behold, here we are, seven chapters finished and ready to be posted.
I realized I haven't written a series with non-dark Steve yet, so that had to be remedied as well. This is slow burn, which is rare for me, so you'll have to wait until like chapter 3 until some juicy bits appear, and chapter 5 is the big smutty send off. But I think it'll be worth it, though. Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it✨️
