Oh, I was just reading about that last night! One resource you can check is the American Poultry Association- it has records of the history of breeds, and especially when those breeds were officially admitted to/recognized by the APA. For instance, the Barred Rock is a breed that was officially recognized in 1874, having been bred from the Dominique, a much older heritage breed.

pros: you get to feel clean. you get non greasy hair, non oily feeling skin, it just in general makes you feel better, more energised, refreshed.

cons: there are so many steps. oh my god are there so many steps. before getting into the shower there are steps. during the shower there are steps. and once youve gotten out of the shower? guess what!!! more fucking steps!!!!!!!! UGHHHH

#we do so-called turbo showers when we feel like this#we set a timer and try to finish before it goes off#there are some loose rules about still having to wash certain things and make sure the suds are rinsed off the wall#also the un-written rule about singing a frantic nonsense song while you're doing the turbo shower#time doesn't start until the water turns on#but somehow you still feel like you've got to fling all your clothes off as quickly as possible#idk when this started lol
