I’ve officially moved blogs! This blog will be mostly inactive from now on, but I’ll be plenty active over at @electric-ecclectic !

There are a few reasons I’ve moved blogs, but the main one is that I have a better grasp on Sig’s character now and would like to start fresh! Now that I’ve written her for some time, this blog feels a little clunky and disorganized. Most of my tags are remaining the same, so keep an eye out! I’ll be reblogging a few interaction calls/rp memes to get started over there. Please let me know if there are any threads you’d like transferred over — I’ll go ahead and reblog the responses over to the new blog!

Oh. Well, he supposed, it wasn’t too terribly surprising that the text was complex and that she may not be able to read it. It was a lost, ancient language, after all.

“I see. Well, no matter. Just let me know if you do happen to recognize anything that might be of use while we’re down here,” he replied amicably, holding up his flame while Signe took quick note of the inscriptions. He looked over the markings and diagrams himself, as if he might make some sense of them, but it could have just as equally been a map to a great treasure or a recipe for potato soup, so he left the translating to Signe.

...What we’re looking for?

“And what is it we’re looking for, exactly?” he asked, lowering his hand once she was done with her note-taking. His own goal, after all, was merely to investigate what the Abyss Order was doing down in the ruins. He was hardly a treasure-seeking adventurer or academic. 

He started for the next room as he continued, “As long as we put an end to whatever the Abyss Order is plotting here, I’m satisfied. If you get some material for your research at the same time, then I suppose that’s good too.”

What was she looking for? She hardly had the answer to that herself. To say that she’d been studying the Abyss would sound far too suspicious; and to say that she’d been looking for long-lost information about Khaenri’ah might raise eyebrows.

“Any inscriptions on the wall might be of some value. I may not be able to translate them now, but the more I record, the more easily I’ll be able to translate them. I have a cipher back at my study, but it’s not of much use if it’s not on my person. It’s a bit more dangerous to try and decipher them in real-time. I’d also like to see if I can recover some artifacts that might have some useful information to add to my research.”

She studies the walls carefully as they delve deeper into the domain. The traces of Abyss magic are stronger here than when they’d first entered, putting the magician on high alert.

“You know, I’m surprised the Knights haven’t investigated the area yet considering the level of Abyss Order activity. I really should bring it to their attention when I get back… I’m certain they’ll want to look into the matter, don’t you think?”

“Clearly very tasty,” she grins, clearly very proud of her response. “Did you bake this yourself, Sir Kaeya?”
