online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

A few weeks back my supervisor offered me a consistent schedule and weekends off. Cool.

The next week my schedule was not as described. I went to her and she said management tinkered with it and to work what we agreed on. Cool.

Next couple weeks, scheduled as agreed.

Week before last she came to me and asked me if I could cover another person's schedule instead of my usual because he would be in vacation and we would be short. Sure, no problem.

This week was supposed to be back to me schedule. It's not. I went to her and asked why. Got treated to hostility and then had to hear her rant behind the service desk for over 20 minutes about how people complain when she knew damn well I could hear her. And that I *don't* complain. She literally just thanked me a few weeks ago for being someone who shows up regularly and doesn't complain.

I'm just. I wanted to know why. Why what we agreed on changed. And why I was working until 8pm on Monday only to open at 6am on Tuesday, because she's usually careful about that kind of thing.

I'm fairly certain some of it was that everyone's schedule got blown up and we were all upset. I also wonder if she suspects I put that note up about not doing daily scripture by the time clock.

But... I'm a reasonable person. I've proven repeatedly that I am. She had ample opportunity to explain that our agreement was being screwed up by management and the company. I have worked for this company for 14 years I get it. I see proven that I get it. Instead I was blindsided and abused for asking- which is something she's been happy to answer or explain ahead of time before.

The inconsistency of humans vexes me.
