I am having the time of my LIFE seeing USians short-circuit when they see a tanned White person (in my country, Greece, this is "tanned" White) and their race theory crumbles because soooo many admitted they clocked him as White. Well done people, you are sooo close to realizing that the White/Caucasian type has diversity in it! They are so desperate to "clock" what is this "weird" type of person who looks and doesn't look White!

Actually, people who look like him you have already categorized as White, not only in your legislation but in your social life as well (we are called South Europeans!)

I have news for you! Your sense of categorizing people is fucked up and the reason you short-circuit like this is because you follow the outdated standards of pedantic, classicist, and rich assholes! And the proof is that the MOMENT you learned about some "ethnic" background you rushed to see his dark hair, tan, and features with a totally different eye.

Here's what you miss. It's oversimplified and cookie-cutter but that's apparently what you need to understand how the world works.

After TR and Frostmaster, with Loki being visibly extremely uncomfortable whenever he was in the same room with Grandmaster, let alone touched by him and all the fans suddenly going “ooh, sexy! look, he found himself a sugar daddy uwu” — color me surprised. Male assault victims are traditionally disregarded, especially when they are painted as “deserving this” like poor Loki. There's no such thing as GROWTH on that site and culture. The moment someone makes ONE mistake, just like we all do, or one really OLD tweet or video gets discovered, it's immediately "#isoverparty/deactivate. People make those long educational threads, but then leave no room for them to educate themselves, TRY and apologize.

Like if it's someone who already had the same problem multiple times, then yes, they are horrible and need to be deplataform. But what if someone is really sorry and they GENUINELY want to know about the topic and what the problem with their actions were???

And the worst part is that people expect them to "educate" themselves on their own, like if others are associated/friends with them, they get canceled too, when there was a reason they were canceled in the first place is because they didn't know and they should be able to have friends/a support system to teach them better.

Like it's proven that when someone makes a mistake and it's immediately meet with agression and rudeness, they will be less willing to learn and grow.

I completely understand and I don't dismisse the feeling of being frustrated and upset, because there IS a lot of performance activism online, but respondly rudely will only make things worse, which is the opposite of what we want.

psa: shipping real people is not only harmful to their mental state, but also harmful to their personal relationships, and writing sexually explicit fanfiction about people that exist in real life is creepy as well, and needs to stop. celebrities do not exist for your fetishization of them, and we need to start realizing that. you would not be comfortable if someone wrote a sexually explicit story about you, so why would a celebrity be comfortable with it? just because they’re famous does not mean you’re allowed to sexualize them and violate their privacy. 

It’s kind of telling that Warner Bros is sticking by Justice League (2017) as the canonical version of the film and not Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021).

This is the same movie where:

WB’s continual gaslighting of both Ray Fisher (which still continues at the time of writing) and of the fans by painting them solely as toxic, whilst ignoring the $500,000 raised for AFSP and the toxic environment they helped to create on the set of Justice League (2017); cannot be understated. The attitude taken by the studio, to protect and enable abusers is completely and utterly abhorrent and should not be tolerated.

Even after Zack was granted the rights to release his version of Justice League, WB simply wanted to release the movie in it’s unfinished format and told Zack that he could not use the original ending scene of Bruce Wayne meeting John Stewart (a scene Snyder filmed part of in 2016 and the rest in October 2020). Because of this, Snyder almost walked from the movie as he didn’t “want to take a person of colour out of this movie.”

At the end of the day, Zack Snyder’s Justice League isn’t just a victory for the fans who campaigned long and hard over the last three years but, in the words of Ray Fisher, it’s “ a righting of so many wrongs,”.
