since nobody is sourcing anything to do with the sub, here it is. this one is also true
it sucks that they probably knew this long before now and yet said nothing
Oh the navy literally heard the implosion om their scanners and told them and they kept searching anyways because they said it was "inconclusive" lmao. Like they were informed immediately after it happened and went "yeah sure but what if it didn't implode"
Artist Zach Brunner illustrates the perfect scenes of gay domesticity !
rip to all the “fuckyeah___” blogs that carried our society at one point </3
idk if it’s the mental illness but sharing literally any information feels like oversharing. i’ll be like “i skipped breakfast this morning” and immediately im like “i might as well have told them where i buried the money”
how dare you insult me with something so completely factual
I think that in real life…. Relationships r like . Your partner WILL ‘trauma dump’ on you. You will have to perform ‘emotional labor’ for your partner. Your partner will make mistakes. You will also do all of these things. The very nature of love is irrational and problematic and difficult …. To expect a relationship to be free of these things is strange to me…. The point is that your relationship to that person is ultimately worth it, and worth growing with them, helping each other, seeing the worst parts of another person and being able to love them anyway
the 2024 met gala theme will be ovid's metamorphosis to respect the importance of greek classicalism in fashion aesthetic principles of construction. lil nas x will be dressed as actaeon's hounds, a metaphor for the punishment of black men's existence being seen as predatory. kylie jenner will wear a crimped taffeta toga. florence welch will be in dior as medusa, veiled and weeping. she is a statement about the destruction of intent and story in the face of achronistic politics: medusa can't be a monster if she's a woman, medusa can't be a woman if she's a monster. drake wears a tailored black suit with a black tie and white shirt. seventeen different women dress as botticelli's venus in some form and rip each other to shreds in rage and divine madness, watched over by dionysus, who is dressed as jack black
Least favourite writing thing is “villain’s original fun personality evaporates entirely the moment like they’re redeemed, simply dismissed as being A Façade All Along; their so-called ‘true self’ beneath the mask is actually really quite dull.“
Oh, man, you liked this bad guy for their hammy vocal performance, sparkling confidence and boisterous charm? That’s great, because we killed them offscreen and replaced them with a sullen doppelgänger who exists solely to mope at the camera and feel terrible about things!
if i said who this post was written about theyd nail me to the cross like jesus of nazareth
@softersinned’s astoria!!!
Found a source for this one - it was originally posted privately by Emily Parker, software engineer, formerly of the US State Department, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times. She confirms she wrote it (and gives permission for people to keep sharing it) in the comments of another post on her Facebook page.
She also recommends checking out this Twitter thread and this blog post by Aakash Gupta for a more in-depth analysis, as her original comments were only meant to be some general thoughts she shared with her friends.
The comments on the Facebook post linked above also include one of the most hilariously obvious examples of sea-lioning I've ever seen, which Parker gives absolutely zero ground to, if anyone wants a good laugh at a troll utterly failing to get their way
I'm for "no kind of writing should be illegal" in 99% of cases, but if something is being paid for by the government, they should be legally required to disclose this fact upfront, in no uncertain terms.
That is my one hard line.
I'd rather read a billion dead dove fics than watch a movie paid for by the US government that is clearly pro-government
