Love how we ended up with the magical girl squad and then Gonta + Kanaya. Green buddies. They can talk about Kanaya's lusus and also just trolls in general since they're pretty bug-like???

I have been working on these designs for an embarrassingly long time, so I'm super pumped to finally get to post them! So, Homestuck Precure!!!

Anyway, they're each themed after a Halloween costume + a candy. I hope they're all recognizable, although I guess I cheated a little with Rose since I really wanted to give her an eldritch horror thing which is not a common costume lmao.

I ended up making all the Strilondes bleach blonds. Something something representative of the way each of them puts up a facade and plays at being something they're not in a way that can be damaging etc, but also It Funny.

Technically, this is a redo of a drawing from like a decade ago which I was disappointed in even at the time, so I guess the moral here is to follow your dreams and commit even harder to your super niche crossover ideas when you level up your drawing skills

Doing another one of these with my other main fandom. Again, kinda wild to see how much my version has drifted from canon

If I had drawn him facing the other way, the hair difference would be much starker since I have it swoop more backwards than left (pretty common in fanart imo), but I liked the closer parallel here.

It's wild to see the comparison like this because I somehow never think of myself as drawing the Mews that far off canon? Doing the Ikumi style pastiche was fun, though

I think making Wonderful an ACTUAL DOG who turns human is an extremely funny concept, 10/10. I know we've gotten mascot Cures before, but I feel like this is the first non-fairy animal and definitely the first protagonist!

2023 art summary! Didn't split it this year, but did choose 2 images per month.

I'm glad I was able to maintain my vague "at least one post every 2 weeks" schedule. Finally posted the last 2 of my zine pieces from last year, but now I'm sitting on another one, so expect the preview. It's been fun to get back into zines a little lately after kind of taking a break for several months. Not just as an artist, but as mod too!

As for my goals from last year: definitely did keep making Precure designs! I posted the GF Precure stuff, which was really fun to do, and also have been working on and off on a set for another fandom. Also crossover AUs, including the Sburb one which REALLY took off! I did take part in more exchanges/events but didn't really do more than one collab, so that's something to try for 2024.

I obviously got into Gravity Falls this year and also started rewatching/rereading some stuff I was into years back. It was fun branching out a little and drawing for different fandoms. I'm definitely not dropping DR, TMM, or Precure, but I want to try and have a little more variety in the new year, even if it mostly ends up xovers anyway.
