Truth be told, she may had already started on the day drinking, glad that Leo had reset Gideon to the default settings, as far as how alcohol fabrication. Mick may have been the one bingeing on booze most often but that didn’t make Sara any less of a mess. In fact, Mick’s coping methods were the ones the captain could relate to best - violence and alcohol. And with everything that had happened, the losses their crew had suffered, and the fact that there was a man walking around that was technically Leonard Snart but not the Leonard she had come to care for?

          Yeah. Sara needed to drink.

Perhaps that was what she could blame the compliment on. Or just the simple fact (she tried to deny) that Sara missed HER Leonard, and the flirtatious banter that had become so casual between them. If Leo was thrown by the sporadic compliment, he didn’t show it or he hide it well enough. Leo wasn’t Leonard, not really; but they were identical and the soft smile gracing Citizen Cold’s lips left a hollow ache in Sara’s chest. A quiet, softer part of her longed to have him smirk and assure Sara that the whole Leo guise was merely a ruse. That this was her Leonard Snart, thrown briefly to a different earth by the destruction of the Occulus. That he was here to stay. That he remembered her.

But no such scenario happened. Not even in her dreams, which were more often than not plagued with the ghosts of those she had lost, blaming Sara for being unable to save them.

The smile she offered in return was small, not really touching her eyes, even as Leo complimented her in return. “So I’ve been told,” she drawled, sparing the man only a brief look before making a beeline to the liquor. She was too sober for this. However, Leo’s offer caused her to pause, stormy blue irises taking in first the mugs of hot chocolate and the parka-wearing man beside them.

Everything in her was telling Sara to decline as politely as possible, grab her beat, and retreat to her room to drink or to throw knives or to shuffle mindlessly through Leonard’s old pack of cards, the one he had left in her room the night he died. Instead, as though acting outside of herself, the captain uttered a quiet, “Um…yeah, sure. Thanks.”

Leo couldn’t blame any one member of the crew for reacting the way they did around him. If they didn’t respond to him with anger, or uncertainty, or wariness, they simply avoided him. Sure, some were friendlier than others, and besides Mick’s... harsh reactions toward his attempts to help, he didn’t feel unwelcome in the slightest. Just... out-of-place. Unwanted too, perhaps, at least in the most basic form. But he couldn’t leave. Not yet.

And he couldn’t fault anyone for how they reacted to him. After all, this crew had traveled with someone much different from himself; someone who shared his face and his voice but none of his heart and personality. Someone who had died saving this motley group from a fate he himself couldn’t even imagine.

So it made sense, then, that they tiptoed around him, or avoided him, or snapped at him, or gave smiles that didn’t quite reach their eyes. It hurt; not the way they acted, but the pain so many of them clearly had learnt to live with.

He wanted to help. But it seemed that most of the men and women here didn’t want to be helped. And so he found himself at an unfortunate impasse.

That was why he had found himself in the kitchen - if you could call it that - making hot chocolate. It was soothing; it reminded him of home. Of those he had left behind. And he needed a little of that right now.

Though he certainly wasn’t going to turn down company either. Being alone with your thoughts and memories could only go so far.

At Sara’s affirmative response, his smile grew a little wider and he nodded, patting one of the chairs near him before retrieving a second mug and setting about to making a mug for Sara. “So. What has you up this late?” A pause. “If I can ask, of course.”

‘hey, good-looking.’

Leo couldn’t say that he knew exactly what to think of everyone on this timeship; they were an interesting bunch, confusing in some of the best ways and nothing like the ones whose counterpats he had known back on Earth X. (Primarily Mick, but then, he had always been close to Mickey back on his own Earth, so seeing this version was… jarring, to say the least.)

Even so, he had grown fond of the crew over the week or so he had been with them thus far. They meant well, he thought, even if they weren’t too good at taking care of themselves or working through their feelings. Everyone onboard - not just Mick - could do with some lessons in that.

Perhaps that was why he found it so surprising that Sara so openly complimented him on his appearance. Unexpected to say the least, from the assassin who seemed a little less inclined to deal with feelings than some. Even so, it was appreciated, and Leo’s face brightened into a warm smile.

“Well, thank you. You’re pretty good-looking yourself.” A pause, a nod to the hot chocolate in front of himself. “Care for some cocoa? I think I made a little too much.”

      “Gladly.”

Leonard Snart had a long fuse; he could keep from losing his temper for a long time, bottling it up until he could use the cold rage for something useful - whether to get the upper hand in a fight or make a point. Emotions only were shown if they could serve a purpose.

There was no purpose here, but he had had more than enough of Sara’s teasing. One hand shot out, fingers closing around her wrists and pinning them to the wall as he crowded into her space, other hand trailing fingers along her jawline before he pressed a kiss to her lips. Maybe that would shut her up.

Leo gave a low, muffled sound of bliss when his lover captured his lips in a kiss, reveling in the sensation as long as it lasted until they broke away for breath. He pressed his forehead against the other’s with a pleased hum.
“Oh well. They’re gonna be hot and bothered all day with no one to help… unlike you and I.” Another kiss, briefer than the last but no less passionate.
All too pleased by Ray’s inability to form coherent sentences, Leo smirked, pecking the tip of his lover’s nose. “Well… I’ve had practise. Practise on the most beautiful man on this earth or any other.”

Ray grinned into each kiss they shared before chuckling and shaking his head at Leo.

“Now, that I know is not true. Because it’s not possible to practice what you just did on yourself and you are really the most… gorgeous man in any universe.” He replied honestly, his grin warm and pleased as he kissed Leo once again. “God, I love you.” Ray chuckled as he ran his hand over his boyfriends’ side.

Leo clicked his tongue, shaking his head with a sort of fondness even as he pressed a finger to the other's lips. "Shh. You're wrong." Hus eyes crinkled at the corners in amusement and he lowered his hand away from Ray's mouth to stroke absently along his collarbone.

"I love you," he returned, humming quietly and leaning his side into the other's touch. "Wrong opinions and all." The mischievous grin returned.

“I know. I missed you too, sunshine. So much.” Leo’s hands ran along the curve of Ray’s spine in a soothing manner, stroking up ward to cradle the back of his head at the tearful request. “Never. Never again. I promise you that, Ray. Not if I can help it.”
The choked sound sent alarm and pain radiating through Leo and he made a hushing sound, leaning forward and against Ray’s hand to press a brief kiss to his lips, his own hand coming to cradle the other’s jawline.
“I think so.” Thumb stroked gentle circles along the other’s cheek. “They’ve done some amazing things with that AI; restored limbs, even life… if anyone can fix your eyes, it’s them.” Another kiss. “It’s worth a try, I’d say.”

The brief kisses brought a slight hint of a smile to Ray’s lips. Leo had always been able to manage that. No matter what he was going through, his boyfriend managed to coax even the smallest smiles out of him.

His fingers brushed against his boyfriend’s cheeks, only ever stilling for moments at a time as if he did stop, Leo would disappear.

“If… If I could help me s-see you again…. I’ll try anything. Anything if you think it might help me not be useless.”

There it was. However faint, however fleeting, Ray's smile was one of Leo's favourite sights in the universe. His own fingers went to trace Ray's lips, gentle and adoring in the simple gesture.

But the other's next words sent a pang of pain through his heart and Leo leaned forward, taking Ray's face in his hands; still gentle but with some level of urgency.

"Listen to me." He touched their foreheads together for a brief moment. "You are not useless. You were never useless and you will never be useless. Maybe useful in different ways, but never useless. Never. Understand?"

It was a shame that, when small talk came up amongst other groups, that saying his favourite sounds in any world were the choked moans and breathless way Ray said his name when they made love in any capacity would not be considered ‘appropriate’. Because that would be Leo’s answer every time.
He waited until Ray attempted to give some sort of warning, then took him all the way down with just as the other came, swallowing every drop he could before finally pulling back with a deep breath, drawing oxygen into his aching lungs and swiping the back of his hand across his face to clean off what he hadn’t swallowed.
A pleased hum left his swollen lips and he rose to his feet, ignoring his arousal for now - he could take care of it later - and reaching out to cradle his lover’s face in his hands, touching their foreheads together.
“There, see? No one walked in on us.” A brief expression between smirk and grin played across his features, playful and suggestive all at once. “Can’t promise no one heard, though.”

His eyes stayed closed as Ray did his best to try and steady himself. His heart was beating fast and his breath was still heavy as he slowly opened his eyes to look into Leos’ eyes as their foreheads rested against each other. A satisfied grin on his lips.

“I’m not so sure about the no one walking in part.” He murmured, still grinning as he leant his head in to kiss Leo deeply. not caring about the fact he could taste himself on his boyfriend’s tongue. It was a few more moments before Ray pulled back to rest his forehead back against the other mans.

“That… that was…. you are way too good at that.” He chuckled, unable to form a better sentence than that at that moment in time.
