// okay, I’m putting ALL MY BLOGS ATTACHED TO THIS HUB ON HIATUS. just until further notice. I haven’t entirely lost muse for any of the muses, at least not yet, they’re just asleep and placed on back burners so I can give other blogs attention. I’m not sure yet how long it will last-- most likely just until one of the muses here returns, then I’ll be back.

  • first of all: I use this lovely theme made by octomoosey.
  • you need to know your screen res: FIND HERE.
  • all that I use to make my theme bgs: picpick (download is free; you can also use paint), pixlr (download is free), photoscape (download is free), & lunapic (free online editing site; I only use this for one step lol).
  • obviously, save the image you want to use for the bg! (I try to avoid fan art nowadays, but if I use fan art I always credit the artist on my credit page with full intention to delete the bg if the artist approaches me and asks) – (also, the image can already be transparent or not; this tutorial showcases a previously transparent image for simplicity sake [if you want to see how I deal with a non-transparent image, lemme know and I can make a brief post about that])
  • to avoid repetition, I’ma state it here and only here: OBVIOUSLY SAVE THE STUFF.

pros of a multi blog :    everything is in one place, & therefore you never have to worry about reblogging the wrong thing in the wrong spot. everything is easily accessible, if organized properly. NO LOGGING IN & OUT just to check status on one muse/blog. if ur slow with one muse, it isn’t a big deal. if ur muse dies & another revives, it’s super easy to take them off or add them on with little worry.
cons of a multi blog :    a lot of people tend to judge multis to be ‘untidy’. a blog may not follow you because you have a muse from a certain fandom/media they don’t like. it’s easier to find something they don’t like due to the diversity. you may come off as either “too intimidating” to approach or “too lacking” depending on how the blog is run. TAGS CAN BE A NIGHTMARE. there is hundreds of pages you have to take care of. theme/icons/header style??? what that.
pros of a hub blog :     each muse gets their own side blog & that’s cool. it helps to know which muses are more wanted than others. tag system can be anything you want it to be, & can be spontaneously changed. AGAIN, no constant logging in/out to check one muse. each blog can have a style of theme/icons/header, etc. with aesthetics. you can devote your time to one muse at times when muse is highest without worry of clogging up too much. 
cons of a hub blog :     for some reason no one notices ur blogs are side blogs????? you can’t like/follow directly from one blog so it can make things hard or awkward at times. sending asks in can be funky or time consuming. shit, i reblogged the wrong thing to the wrong blog. it can be a challenge to check every single activity page every time you log in just to make sure you see everything. your muses may get the recognition they deserve, if they find u.

so i’ve noticed dash only blogs popping up, and while i get the appeal of not having to look for a theme or cave to aesthetic pressure, it’s unlikely that i’ll be following any dash only blogs because i like to read pages, like the rules, an about page, verses, etc.; i feel like i know what to expect from a writer/blog, i can get a better feel for the character (esp. if they’re canon divergent/double esp. if they’re an oc), and i can come up with interaction/plot ideas more easily; it’s nothing personal, just a preference.
