Important information! Insurance coverage decisions are made by medically ignorant bean-counters. Until we can dismantle the whole shitty system, know how to scare them into submission.

Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood- Sarah J. Maas

My rating: 5 out of 5
Read a Summary: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/44778083-house-of-earth-and-blood
Sarah J. Maas is my favorite author of all time, Throne of Glass my favorite series. Every time she puts out a new book I have this weird combination of excitement and dread. I know I love her writing, but I’m always worried it won’t compare to her other amazing books. And I’m never…

Tiger Lily- Jodi Lynn Anderson

My rating: 4 out of 5
Read the summary: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7514925-tiger-lily
I’m a sucker for beautiful writing, retellings, and romances. Tiger lily was all three of those things wrapped up in a concise, poignant piece that managed to portray love in new way. I’ve read a lot of love stories, too many to count, but none have stuck with me like this book. We all know the story…

ALRIGHT. LISTEN UP.

So recently, I got calls from the phone number, (937) 353-8319. They claim to be a job service, and one of their “employees”, Carrigan, is friends with whoever the call recipient is, and that Carrigan has recommended you for this $15.00/h “job”. I also got a text message from (937) 607-1493, claiming to be Carrigan, and that they need stuff to “win a scholarship”. I do not know anyone by the name of Carrigan and I know very well that this is a very dangerous scam. If you receive a call from a number, and they ask you if you would like a job for $15.00/h, HANG UP IMMEDIATELY. If you accept the “job” offer, and you go in for an interview, they will give you a drugged bottle of water and you will wake up somewhere you don’t want to be. These phone calls & texts are from a human trafficking service, and if you oblige to them, you will be sold to people and you will be raped, no doubt about it. So PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS OR TEXTS. I have listened to the voicemails, and allowed my dad to do the same, and he learned that anyone offering a $15.00/h “job” is a human trafficker. PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST THIS ALL OVER TUMBLR

Okay, I am reblogging this because it is relevant again. I got another call from a 353 number. Not the exact same number, but I know that it is a trafficker because it’s 353 just like the last one. I also want this to signal boost so PLEASE REBLOG THIS.

Why are people deleting the captions though I had to search for what the pictures meant don’t do that

a side note,  because theyre very popular around the DMV, If you ever see a sign with something akin to ‘free debt erasure’ ‘15/h job’ etc and ONLY A PHONE NUMBER, ignore it. tear it down if you can, because those are well known scams and sex-trafficking baits.do not, by any means, call or respond to these messages. do not let your friends do it. do not.

THIS IS IMPORTANT AF THANK Y’ALL HOLY SHIT

Oklahoma is one of the worst states as far as human trafficking, so thank y’all so fucking much. That’s literally my life and the lives of everyone I know that y’all just saved. Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you

The Many Subgenres of Science Fiction

Science fiction is any idea that occurs in the head and doesn’t exist yet, but soon will, and will change everything for everybody, and nothing will ever be the same again. As soon as you have an idea that changes some small part of the world you are writing science fiction. It is always the art of the possible, never the impossible. ~ Ray Bradbury

Book Recomendations??

Hello!! I realized that I need some new books to read and was hoping that people could give me some suggestions :) I obviously immensely enjoy books from Sarah J. Maas or books like Six of Crows so anything along those lines would be fantastic!

I extremely highly recommend Truthwitch by Susan Dennard!!!!!! And Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also Carry On by Rainbow Rowell!!!!!! If you like the Heist/Spy aspect of SoC, the Gallagher Girls books by Ally Carter as well as her Heist Society series are really good. In terms of dark fantasy, I also recommend Three Dark Crowns

Oooo I really enjoyed reading Truthwitch (now I’m thinking about rereading it haha)! All of those books look pretty good but just from reading all the descriptions I’d have to say that Three Dark Crowns has really caught my interest! Thank you for the recommendations :))

Trick and Dare by Natalia Jaster are absolutely amazing fantasy books!!!

The Lie: Nothing happened. The Truth: You sit in your usual spot in a cheap pub when it happens. There’s a soft, clear laughter that sears through the air that slices the atmosphere like sharp flinders. You catch a glimpse of a bare throat thrown back in a moment of complete and utter glee. Your blood starts to tremble and shake with something you can’t comprehend, before you realize that there’s not enough alcohol in your system to deal with this. Not now. Not here.

The Lie: It’s just a kiss. The Truth: Long, slender fingers tug and rip at dark curls, bury their fingertips painfully into your skull. The boy’s mouth is wet and warm on your own but there’s nothing tender between. When the boy starts to run, you do nothing to stop him.

The Lie: The kiss was a one time thing. The Truth: This, whatever it may be between you, was supposed to be just once. Not twice, not three times or four or five or six. Sometimes around the tenth time you push the boy’s back against the dirty wall in the back alley to kiss the hell out of him. You lose count after that.

The Lie: It doesn’t mean anything. The Truth: Slender fingers are on your upper thighs and a moment later you feel them sneaking inside your jeans. He presses kisses on your neck and when did it happen that you lost track of your rules? Because this is not safe ground.

The Lie: It’s just sex. The Truth: The sharp pang of his teeth make your head slur and spin and you’re not entirely sure if it’s the alcohol in your veins or the taste of him in your mouth. Your mind is racing with only his name in a loop. He’s moaning into your mouth which echoes in the silence. There’s a hand on the zipper of your jeans - you immediately sober up.

The Lie: This will be the last time. The Truth: Sex comes easily these days. It’s always a roaring war when you touch and you stay entwined and tangled into each other, all limbs and hands and lips. When the boy pushes himself of the bed and out of your sheets and into his jacket again you stay behind. You always do.

The Lie: It’s just words. The Truth: He says it first. It feels like he’s pushing a bruise but you can’t stop yourself from falling in love even more.

The Lie: They’re not in love. The Truth: People read it in your eyes and how you hold each other in glances that linger far too long. People see it in your motions and the way your fingers coil around his when you walk together. People hear it in your voices and how you talk about each other and how your pitches change as soon as the other one enters the room. People know. But they would never tell you.

HEY ARTISTS!

Do you design a lot of characters living in not-modern eras and you’re tired of combing through google for the perfect outfit references? Well I got good news for you kiddo, this website has you covered! Originally @modmad made a post about it, but her link stopped working and I managed to fix it, so here’s a new post. Basically, this is a costume rental website for plays and stage shows and what not, they have outfits for several different decades from medieval to the 1980s. LOOK AT THIS SELECTION:

OPEN ANY CATEGORY AND OH LORDY–

There’s a lot of really specific stuff in here, I design a lot of 1930s characters for my ask blog and with more chapters on the way for the game it belongs to I’m gonna be designing more, and this website is going to be an invaluable reference. I hope this can be useful to my other fellow artists as well! :)

Eclipse

He was there, in front here, all of him bared for her to take, to never return, to devour until her body quaked. He was moving toward her, as he always was doing, his arm outstretched. And this was when she would turn away, a smirk on her face saying come and get me, but today, she didn’t turn away.

She looked into his eyes, a tear of moon dust falling across her cheek, her body burning up with each step he took. Sunlight tracks running down his chin and he didn’t bother to wipe them away. Their tears, golden and silver pooling and swirling into forever.

She grabbed his hand. As heat seared and burned her fingers. She grabbed his face, pressing her forehead to his, pressing her lips to his. And in that moment, all else was irrelevant. They were together and kissing became taking each other and blinding the world with their love. Falling on the spikes of each other’s souls, impaling themselves on their laughter. So much had led to this moment, so long had they dreamed of each other. When they were alone, and hopeless, and collapsing into everything they could never be. When they danced across the sky, each hoping they had found the other half, the perfect complement, the one who didn’t shrink from the others flaws.

And they would have to go through that all again. The darkness, the cold, the loneliness, the gazing from afar but never touching, they didn’t know how long it would take, before they again met in such unison the entire galaxy stared in awe. But they knew, they could endure whatever would happen, they could endure the pain. They would send each other gifts, their hearts ready to implode and suck the rest of eternity with them, they would follow each other in the endless cycle.

Because it was all worth it

the darkest moment

and the most hopeless of times,

it was all worth it to stand in each other’s arms,

just once,

just for one second,

to finally feel

whole.

She had become his life

she had become life itself

And he loved her in a way that he had only seen

the smallest ones’ love,

wholly,

completely,

fuck restraint for us two

are tethered to each other

by these guitar strings

that we pluck to hear

the sweet sound that is

completely us.

 So he gave her gifts.

On nights when he couldn’t see her,

when he knew she was again cold and alone.

When she cried herself to sleep

and her tears fell is shimmering drops

that burned up the sky

When he wanted to feel her and

threw himself into the unknown void of blackness

to try

and was met with coldness

that only a raging explosion could feel.

 When they were apart,

he would send her gifts

He would color the sky with droppings from his heart

and spread the blood out in great ribbons across the sky so she could see them,

so she would know he was there with her, so she wouldn’t let her darkness consume her.

And she would send him gifts.

Great waves that could take down an entire fleet and destroy

but could also soften and shape everything in its path

to remind him that he had softened her hardness

and that he had destroyed her with his first ray of light.
