Welcome to Aileen Landing! (Final Version)

A custom sci-fi alien neighborhood with scripted events! ^^

Aileen LaFontaine's discovery of this moon has raised hope for people from all over the world. Sims from Pleasantview, Strangetown or Veronaville have left their homes for a better future on this moon!

But the environment seems rather intimidating than welcoming! Bizarre gravity. Swirly gas giant hovering over the ominous misty sky. Two pulsating suns?

Is the "New, Better" world really a better world?

You will find out as you play in the neighborhood! ;)

Neighborhood Information:

* Fully BG Compatible and No CC/EPs Required to play in this neighborhood! However, you may want to check out the optional sky mod I made specifically for this neighborhood.

* No camera mod needed to view the whole neighborhood.

* 59 lots (14 community / 45 residential) … with a few “ready-to-upgrade” lots for EPs, such as Nightlife, Open For Business, Apartment Life, etc.

* 15 families with scripted events/scenarios like in the TS2 base game neighborhoods (see attached screenshots below!)

* Includes customized alien townies/NPCs to reflect the neighborhood's overall theme! Most of the sims are named after actual celestial bodies... i.e. there is a sim named after the star Pollux!

* Speaking of which, there are lots of other astronomical references/easter eggs in the neighborhood (well I guess, that's what happens if you let a physics student design a neighborhood, lol!)

Main Download:

- to install, put the folder AL01 into your Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 (Ultimate Collection)/Neighborhoods folder and you’re good to go. If you can’t see the neighborhood, try deleting the NeighborhoodManager.package file.

- for the subhood version, put the folder BAL1 into your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate folder -- OR -- C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate folder if you have TS2 UC.

Optional Downloads:

*Alien Skybox NEW! (Recolor of lowedeus’s skyboxes) - doesn’t affect other neighborhoods unlike the default replacement sky mod, plus a few more details in the sky! See screenshots here! To install, just place it into your Downloads as usual.

*Alternative Alien Sky Mod (DEFAULT REPLACEMENT) - default sky mod as seen in early screens of Aileen Landing, suitable for those with EPs lower than Pets and/or cannot use the skyboxes! To install, just place it into your Downloads as usual.

*Mannequin Babies Can Be Born - mod to fix crashing that may occur when sims with the mannequin skintone have babies. You’ll need it since there are a few sims with the mannequin skintone in this neighborhood. Thank you @crumplebot for reminding me of this mod. :)

Custom Scripted Events!

I really don't want to spoil too much on this already and just let you guys explore the neighborhood first, lol! But I've included an optional mod that introduces you the sims and their storylines a litte.

Simply remove it from the neighorhood folder once you've finished your first round (I recommend playing each family for one day to complete the scripted events). If you don't want to use this mod, you can also remove it from the neighborhood folder.

The recommended play order is exactly the way the families are presented in the neighborhood story. But you can play as you like, the scripted events are independent from each other and won't break if you choose a different play order.

Updated! (06/29/22) - V3 (hopefully final!) - Subhood Version Included

Alright, this is most likely the final version of Aileen Landing! Small renovations were made to some of the lots to help improve gameplay (i.e. fix sims possibly getting caught up, etc.).

They're all mostly based on @bobobrains and t0xictia's livestreams, thanks a lot for the helpful suggestions and also for playing in Aileen Landing while it was still in beta. <3

Anyway, here's a quick changelog:

*Various new relationships and memories were added to backup the lore... with a few extras! XD

*1 new community lot, which is supposed to represent a stargate (so, you can justify sims wandering in Aileen Landing from other subhoods) - thanks again @bobobrains for the brilliant idea! :)

*A few new custom NPCs were added as well! ^^

*All families have Storytelling pictures in their family album now, not only to backup the lore, but also give insights to their (shady) past!

*Updated neighborhood picture that actually uses the new season-friendly skybox!

Spooky Hill [Creepy CC-Free Neighbourhood with Custom Scripting]

Information

Spooky Hill is my (very early) Halloween gift to you! If you love all things spooky scary and enjoy playing with supernatural Sims, I have the perfect neighbourhood for you. This is a small, 6 household hood with plenty of creepy and abandoned lots ready for you to boot up and explore.

This is a completely CC-free neighbourhood, but since I have the Ultimate Collection, you must own all of the EP’s and SP’s in order for the hood to function as intended. You do not need a camera mod to play the neighbourhood.

Spooky Hill also has custom scripting! I recommend playing the families in the order they appear in the neighbourhood story for the best experience, but it's not entirely necessary. The file for scripted events is included in the neighbourhood folder. Once you've played through every household, you can delete the file. Doing so is completely safe!

There are 30 townies in total ranging from children to adults. For the sake of consistency, I’ve allowed some NPC’s to generate so they’ll mostly be the same in everyone’s game.

While completely safe to do so, I don’t recommend resurrecting deceased Sims. They lack information living Sims in the neighbourhood have, such as skills, memories and hobby enthusiasm.

Recommended Mods

Please note that the following mods are optional, but strongly recommended for a better gameplay experience:

  • Sims won't be able to water certain flowers because of their location, so using Water Inaccessible Flowers will be a huge help when taking care of the Sims' gardens!
  • Same issue as above! The Trim Inaccessible Bushes mod will make it so Sims can trim bushes regardless of where they are located.
  • There is a Sim employed in the Law Enforcement career, so getting the Playable Cops mod will prevent the game from spawning a random police NPC and use the playable instead.
  • Better Apartment Residences is especially recommended if you only want the custom townies to rent the apartments. Without this mod, random townies will spawn!
  • Another great apartment mod is Rent Furnished Apartments! The motel is already furnished so using this mod will prevent you from having to do it yourself.
  • Because I’ve placed objects on some dining tables, they may be rendered unusable in a vanilla game. The Centerpiece Enabler will fix this and Sims will be able to use the dining table without issue!

I have play-tested the neighbourhood as thoroughly as I can to ensure hood is as clean and as functional as possible, but if you experience any issues, please don’t hesitate to let me know and I’ll get it fixed.

hi, i was going through the wiki page for inhabited custom hoods and saw that there was a request to contact you about a cleaner version of fontaine - i actually still have the original zip file i downloaded when the original link was still available, so i believe i have a version of fontaine that has never been played after it's release. if you still need a cleaner fontaine, i can reupload the zip and dm a link to you?

Hi there!! Sure, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated!! As to my knowledge, the current link leads to a save file that does contain a multi PT mod.

(It is still unplayed after all, but not everyone may want to play with a multi PT mod)

If you could re-upload the original zip I will update the current link on the sims wiki.

Four Corners (Riley's Story) - Townies & NPCs Pool

As requested, I've created an optional townie/NPC pool for Four Corners (aka Riley's Story). It can be downloaded here.

Now, you can finally play Four Corners, with its original lore, as well as with its original townies and NPCs, exactly as they were in Sims Life Stories! (... or at least recreate your own stories after EA's official story was over, say, make Riley fall for Donte XD)

How to Use:

Put the folder SLSR into your Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate Note: If you have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, put it here instead: Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

To use, just add the townie&NPC pool as a subhood to Four Corners (or any other neighborhood you wish) and you're good to go! You may delete the subhood afterwards. It's really only meant to deliver the townies/NPCs into your neighborhood… kinda like a stealth hood.

Known Issues:

One known issue is that all townies and NPCs will have their names randomized unfortunately. But you can use lingeringwillx's program to restore default names for sims in subneighborhoods. Alternatively, you can also use SimPE to rename everyone to their original names. For this, I've provided a list of townies and NPCs with their thumbnails and their default names (in the rar file).

Otherwise, they all come as close as possible to how they were in Sims Life Stories, i.e. they should all have the same aspirations, turn ons/offs, relationships, etc. I also gave them their original clothes and looks in every clothing category (yes, I really made sure they all match, also for the playable sims, already in this neighborhood, btw).

Oh, and they were created using @meowingcookie's Maxis Infant Face templates, so they should all have genetic infant faces. ^^

The other townie & NPC pools for the other recreated Sims Stories neighborhoods are in the works as well, so stay tuned for more to come! As always, happy simming! <3

I found your Sedona dl while perusing MTS. You have instructions of where to put it if your using it as a subhood. I am curious as to why? I have the ultimate collection but when I load the game it comes up as Gardens and Mansions.

I want to make sure the opening ep does not matter and that the file will still load following your directions.

I am also curious as to if I could use a copy of a premade hood as a subhood for a neighborhood I created (using game templates of course)

There seems to be so much I need to learn after all these years away.

If you want to use the neighborhood as a subhood, say, as a "shopping district" like Bluewater Village, which you could add to any of your neighborhoods, then you'd have to put it into your Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate

If you'd put the subhood into your Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhood folder as usual, the subhood would no longer appear as an available shopping district if you'd try to add a new shopping district to any of your neighborhoods... instead, it would show up as a regular playable main hood in the main menu. With the only exception that it still has a unique loading screen (shopping district icon) and once loaded, it has the "Return to Main Hood" button.

But you can't put a neighborhood classified as a "main hood" into your NeighborhoodTemplate folder either, as the game will only read them as subhoods if they have also been converted into such.

If you want to convert your own main hood to a subhood, you can try to do the following:

  • First, disable your stealth subhoods and remove any if you have them attached to your main hood. You'll also have to remove any university, downtown, vacation or any other shopping district subhoods if you have any... otherwise the cheat won't work.
  • Add "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" in your user startup file if you haven't already, as this will unlock a fancy new cheat which is very helpful later on...
  • Now, with all your subhoods removed and disabled, load the main hood you wish to convert and type in the following: "changeNeighborhoodType [university/downtown/suburb/asia/mountains/tropics]" to convert it into the subhood you wish... in your case it'd be changeNeighborhoodType suburb, right?
  • If everything's done correctly, the game will reload the neighborhood. If it does, quit the game and move your freshly converted subhood into your Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
  • Open up the game and see if your neighborhood shows up as an available shopping district to add now. ^^

The skybox is more or less finished, the neighborhood is still far from finished though.. but it's currently on hold as I’ve got to finish a few other projects (both in real life as well as sims projects).

I've added a few more neighborhoods to the list as well. There are soo many new neighborhoods to play ever since the last update! Oh my! But I'm so glad to see a great variety of populated neighborhoods over there and it keeps growing and growing. ^^

Btww, if you know of any custom neighborhoods that are not in the list, please let me know so I can add them as well.

Looking for translators for Aileen Landing

I know I said V3 would be the final version of Aileen Landing… but well, I couldn’t stop myself from renovating and a few more custom townies and NPCs made it into the neighborhood as well during the process, lol.

But then, the amazing @letomills kindly offered to translate Aileen Landing into French and also provided me translated text strings (which are absolutely great and I cannot wait for you to see them in the ultimate final upload soon!!) and I thought, well why not? It’d be cool to play Aileen Landing in other languages as well!

Therefore I’d also like to ask if anyone’s also interested in translating the neighborhood into other languages before I release the ultimate final version? That would be much appreciated and I’d definitely credit you for all your hard work! ^^

P.S. i’m currently also working on a German translation of the neighborhood which I’ll include in the next update alongside letomills’s French translation. But yeah, feel free to let me know what you think. ^^

[4t2] Sixam (Skybox & Ocean Floor)

Alright, after a long hiatus I'm finally back with an update! ^^

Remember the 4t2 sixam skybox I was working last year... but wasn't quite happy about it being "high" in the sky... with all those objects being too gigantic? Well I tried to fix it, but still tried to keep the original TS4 vibe... so yeah, let me know what you think!

Is there something you'd change as well? I'd love to have some feedback on that.

By the way, I also made a matching SC4 map for Sixam, to match the rocky vibe TS4 Sixam has. I think it's closest I could get with those annoying SC4 sculpting tool, lol.

Update!!!

I just came across early images of how Sixam originally looked like. For some reason EA decided to change Sixam and make it more "matt" at some point in an update.

I decided to add back the highlights as I think it looks much cooler and gives more of a out-of-this-world feeling. I've also managed to fix the planet's shape to be more spherical, yayy!! Below you can see Sixam before and after the glow up. ^^

To be honest, I don't know why EA changed Sixam in the first place? As I've had it much brighter in memory as well! But didn't think much of it when I first made this skybox out of the screenshots from my game.

Someone say...eyebrows?

After the big hair default replacement, there were a few WCIF requests for eyebrows. So now here we are :)

These are basically all of the eyebrows from TS4 converted to TS2. I did include default replacements + a doc on which customs to remove if you want the defaults too. And, if you're not a fan of my default options, I'd suggest checking out @tvickiesims option here

Download - SFS | MF 55 options | 5 natural colors | unisex | all ages (for the most part - you can use OutfitOrganiser to remove ages)

Every Wall from TS4

Sul Sul!

BOY do I have a BIG set for you; I'm sorry @sims4t2bb for giving you tons of work this week!

This set contains basically every wall from TS4. I have included collection files for you to be able to pop in get the right walls as you see fit.

  • 3796 walls converted,
  • It is recommended that if you play with my defaulted walls, is to take the defaults out as there will be duplicates, I will update in the future maybe...
  • It pairs lovely with the entire floor collection that I have made and uploaded and updated previously!
  • Collection files include floors AND walls (and any items that I have converted and you have in your game so far)
  • Thanks to @tvickiesims and @platinumaspiration for helping with some walls / floors for some of the sets,
  • I have included already uploaded walls from the converted sets that I have uploaded. So you will have to delete the duplicates if you have the packs too!

Real Animated Pets - Jaguar Edition

Was hard to find a proper name for this one. This is jaguar conversion from Castaway Stories that acts like @deedee-sims and mine Farm Animals - it's a custom pet collar for large dogs.

This was originally requested by @jellymeduza way back when farm animals were posted (made, sent and then forgotten). And now that I see that MTS is full with all kinds of jaguar skins, I remembered and thought it was time to share our version 😀

The jaguar files were extracted from Castaway Stories by me, then remapped (of course I peeked at Darina Rose's jaguar). DeeDee, just like always, made a stellar job with bone assignements (remember though, that nothing is perfect in the world of sims 2 bones 😄). And as already mentioned, this pet is a custom collar for large dogs and works in the same way. More info on how it works can be found in farm animals post here (you'll aslo need the invisible fur file by DeeDee from that post).

Ever wanted to play Bitville from Sims Life Stories, but with its original lore, right after Vincent's Story completed in Sims 2?

Well, then I might have something for you! You might remember that we updated Four Corners, but with Riley's Story completed last summer as well. In these alternative versions of the recreated Stories neighborhoods which the HBG and I made years ago, you can play with the sims just like in a freshly "unlocked" free-play neighborhood in Sims Life Stories, as if you played through the story mode in TS2.

Additionally, right before the end of Vincent's Story, the main character Naomi gets hit by Vincent's very own satellite and Vincent pleads with the Grim Reaper. However, Grim would only return Naomi if Vincent is willing to give up his fortune for her. So you get to choose the outcome of the story with these two options:

  • Vincent values money over love: Naomi dies, Vincent gets to keep his fortune, mansion, job and receives a statue of Naomi (which is basically also her grave)
  • Vincent values love over money: Naomi survives, but Vincent loses his fortune, mansion and job. He would then live together with Naomi with almost no money to start off of.

I recreated both scenarios, so you can download either neighborhood, based on your preferred ending. (In TS2, you could technically also resurrect Naomi now and let Vincent keep his fortune, but that's up to you then, lol.)

Also, if you’re not familiar with Vincent’s story, I recommend watching this lovely series/sims machinima made by the talented Bright Sim Studio on YT. 💕

It’s based on the storyline from the game and I must say they did an excellent job!! It’s very true to the original story and I love the new additions/plot twists as well! Definitely worth checking out! ^^

4T2 Hood Tree Defaults!

Today I have a default replacement bundle for you, this replaces majority of the trees in the hood menu. Fully seasonal, placeable anywhere!

For reference, this set does have more polys than the Linden tree set, incase you wonder about that! I do love the linden trees, its just they dont match my 4T2 game anymore!

It does not replace the firs from later EPs, they will come at another date - see pictures for reference.

They are designed to go with the Flora Default Replacement by Tvickiesims!

  • Included is 3 versions of the Red Bud Tree, one of them does require Better Nightlife if you choose that version. They are in a seperate folder and clearly labelled.
  • There is a package file named "LC_LotTreesPlaceableEverywhere" what this does it allows those trees that are replaced by the flora replacement by Vickie to be placed anywhere now. I am aware there are things out there that do the same thing, but I do not have them and I needed them to be free! All trees in this set are unlocked to be placeable everywhere.

This will obviously conflict with any default you have that replaces any of the hood trees, so please bare that in mind!

Thanks to @tvickiesims for helping me with the fall colours; I would of just made them all red otherwise!

TESTERS NEEDED PLEASE

THIS IS AN EDITED MOD FROM SIMLOGICAL - their one should still work with this edit.

Copied from simlogical.com "I have created some new school types which affect when or if your children get collected by the school bus    You can enroll your children on any of these, as well as the existing schools, by placing a school changer on the lot and using its menu with the child selected.   Once you have made your choice of school, the bell may be deleted.  This is absolutely nothing to do with making your own school using my school institution controllers.  Your child may be registered in any school from their home, and still turn up to the school you are controlling on another lot."

DESCRIPTION

Children and Teens go to school on Monday-Friday 9am-4pm.  If they miss the bus on Monday, the bus will also come on the following day and so on.  Fees payable.  Uniform enabled.

If you change the child's school while they are away for the week, they will come home the same day if before 4pm or next day if you do it later.  Warning - changing school mid-week makes your child lose a grade.  This wasn't intentional, but it's fairly realistic anyway

Walk or fly to school not available with this school."

This mod has added new schools for sims, these are converted from TS3, with custom icons.

INCLUDED

  • ijSchoolChanger - this is the controller that allows you to change school type for the sims.
  • Included in the download is a spreedsheet (Boarding School Randomiser), simply change the number to any number and it will randomise how many skills and traits etc that you could give your sims.This also contains what the school "requires" in terms of traits and tells you what that school focuses on.
  • The Crumpulator is a spreedsheet that combines a few different calcuators for aspiration / degree / career. Included incase you wanted that also!

Saguaro Desert - a small community at the edge of civilisation

The Saguaro desert is known to be one of the most isolated places in SimNation, its only claim to fame it being the final resting place of three of the most notorious outlaws of the Old West. And the little specks of civilization that you can find there have certainly kept true to their outlaw roots. The Saguarians might tolerate the tourists that descend upon their desert every summer, but if you try to settle, you’ll soon realize that down here in this unforgivable environment, being an outsider earns you the distrust of everyone.

With an influx of newcomers, some of them running from their past and some of them seeking answers to long-buried secrets, trouble is brewing in the small community. Because there are people in this community desperate to keep these secrets from ever seeing the light of day again.

Welcome to the Saguaro Desert, a custom neighbourhood with plenty of secrets. This neighbourhood for download requires minimal CC (Stories bundle) and all expansion packs and stuff packs for you to play.
