when will white lgbts (from the us and europe) realize they have absolutely no benefit from homonationalism and giving politicians support no matter how "liberal" will only result in being thrown under the bus once they used yall up for their political campaigns, image and basically, virtue signaling. they don't give a damn about you, homonationalism and pink washing are counter-productive and only work against the community. get this drilled into your thick skulls already and get your shit together. ditch the nationalism and chauvinism

it does benefit them though. supporting white supremacy will always benefit white ppl because you’re white. even if that benefit is limited even if it’s contingent you will always benefit from your whiteness in a world where whiteness is social and political currency. it’s equally chauvinistic to sit there as a white person and type a paragraph about how whites should oppose white supremacy bc it might come back to bite YOUR group. my god

what white lgbts need to do is stop prioritizing and centering your safety your needs your desires. starting now starting with you

A 28-year-old motorcyclist died in Washington State on Friday afternoon because a dipshit Tesla driver rear-ended him at speed. A Snohomish man, 56, was commuting in his 2022 Tesla Model S when he activated the car’s camera-based advanced driver assist system and according to his statements to police, began looking through his phone. With nobody paying attention to the car’s actions, the Tesla software ignored Jeffrey Nissen on his motorcycle and continued on at speed. The car rear-ended the two-wheeler, Nissen was flung from the bike, and his life ended pinned underneath the electric car, where he was still lodged when police arrived to the scene.

Tesla claims another life.

Reminder that even if you are personally aware of how dangerous Tesla vehicles are and vow to never ride in one, they can still kill you.

My own driving habits have changed around them. I always give Teslas extra space, avoid following them directly, and expect them to stop or swerve suddenly without notice.

Cannot count the times I've pulled up next to a Tesla at freeway speed, noticed the driver playing on their phone. Tap the horn. They look up with surprise.

Please, don't be that guy.

fun fact one of the world champions in pepper-eating contests is a trans woman and she actually faced significant backlash because people somehow thought she had a biological advantage. to eating spicy pepper

update bc i went back and checked: her name is brianna “the chilli queen” skinner and she set a record in 2017 by slamming back 23 carolina reapers consecutively. she only stopped when told to by the referees, and the next year she stepped down out of boredom. queen

When I was a kid my family pretended to get raptured so I would think I was left behind on earth while they all went to heaven.

I was like 8 years old and my sister and mom had gotten really into the Left Behind novels (bible fan fic about the rapture). In the books when the rapture happened the clothes that people were wearing when they got raptured were left behind in neatly folded piles.

One day when I was getting home from school my family decided that they would leave piles of neatly folded clothes around the house, and then hide in the basement.

The intended effect was that I would get home and see the clothes then, think that my family had been raptured and that I wasn’t good enough to get into heaven… or something?

The problem was that I had never read these books, and didn’t really think about the rapture very often. There was no reason that I would see some laundry on the floor and think “The rapture happened and I’ve been abandoned by God! I’ll never see my family again!! Oh nooo!!!!”

I just sat down and watched cartoons and eventually my family got bored and revealed that they were all hiding in the basement.

It’s a good thing I didn’t understand the joke, otherwise that shit would have been traumatic.

remembering the time I called american psycho (a satirical film about toxic masculinity) a dark comedy and the overwhelming response was 'oh so u think men killing sex workers is funny? u think THAT'S funny?' like no I find a patrick batemen listening to 'i'm walking on sunshine', killing jared leto while wearing a clear raincoat and giving a dissertation on huey lewis n the news, using 'I need to return some video tapes' to get out of awkward situations, throwing a hissy fit about business cards, dropping a chainsaw down a flight of stairs, thinking an atm is telling him to feed it cats, and crying hysterically under a desk is funny. but thank u for ur wonderful insight

Labour is going to win the general election and then say this doesn’t go far enough.

"Sunak said ‘something has gone wrong’ since the pandemic to increase the number of people signed off work for long-term sickness" (metro)

staring into the camera like its the fucking office

"Mr Sunak also said, if the Conservatives win the general election, those who were still out of work after 12 months after support from a work coach will have "their benefits removed entirely"." (bbc)

just fucking shoot me now i hate it here

okay logging back in for one thing:

the government now has an open call for evidence on their proposed changes.

"This call for evidence is part of a wider suite of activity to reform the fit note and will act as a prelude to a full consultation on specific policy proposals which will be launched later this year."

it's all well and good for people to say "oh just because he said it, doesn't mean it will happen", as if the government hasnt happily let disabled people die from benefit cuts, lack of social care and oh yeah FUCKING COVID. have people forgotten that? 6/10 covid deaths in the uk were disabled people and nobody cared. so don't think they won't keep making it worse for us.

please read, please share and please if youre in the uk, please consider fighting with us to stop this.

i am so tired of watching my community die.

This is the same hospital where they released a Palestinian hostage to warn them of invasion, before they sniped him dead.

I can't think of anything more monstrous than these bloodthirsty terrorists.
