ok so I've just discovered what otherkin is and it seems cool and perfectly valid and all, you do you. but I don't understand why?? Like how did you discover that you are otherkin and other people too and where did all this come from?? Is it like a past life or something or are you literally a demon/plant/galaxy/whatever you identify as? its different for a lot of people tbh??? like the only non fictionkintypei have is ghostkin which is 100% a coping kin, to cope with dissociation and stuff. thats not a past life or anything
for the rest of my kintypes it feels like a past life, but my biggest kintype mituna im still very much him?? if that makes sense. like i am mituna. it feels weird to refer to mituna in the third person. it was in a past life but im still 100% him
with other kintypes its different. i look at a picture of my kintype and im like “oh shit dawg its me” but it feels more like a past tense sorta thing?? like it didnt carry over into this life as much. i still go through kin shifts tho. like with roxy ill go through a roxy shift and start typing like her and stuff. those fade in and out. but with mituna it feels like im always in a mituna shift it just gets put in the background sometimes.
im not rly an expert on specifically non-fictionkin otherkin considering i only have one kintype like that and its bc of mental illness.
like i said before its different for many people so if u wanna just hear some testimonies id look through some kin related tags and find some blogs that are more non-fictionkin oriented

Otherkin (Otherkinity) - Someone who either spiritually or psychologically identifies as non-human.
Therian (Therianthrope) - Someone who spiritually or psychologically identifies as an animal that exists or existed on earth.
Theriomythic - Essentially the same as Otherkin, but identifies as a feral/uncivilized creature from myth, and is animalistic in nature.
Fictionkin (AKA Otakukin) - Someone who either spiritually or mentally identifies as a fictional character or of a creature from a fictional series.
Draconic (Draconity) - Someone who spiritually or mentally identifies as a dragon.
Animafidem (Animafidemism) - Someone who spiritually identifies as non-human, because they believe their soul is non-human.
Cerebrumalius (Cerebrumalia) - Someone who psychologically identifies as non-human, because they believe their brain responsible.
Incarnate (Reincarnation) - Someone who believes they are an incarnation of someone/something from a past life.
Otherhearted - Someone who strongly identifies with something non-human.
Copinglink - Someone who creates or has an identity to cope with mental illness. Not the same as an otherkin or therian. Kintype - The type of being an otherkin identifies as.
Theriotype - The type of animal a therian identifies as.
Spirit Guide - A spirit of any species that guides you along your path. A seperate entity from your being.
Awakening - When you realize that you identify as something other than human and discover what you are on the inside. “Awakening your otherself”
Astral Limbs - The sensation of limbs that you do not possess in this life, that one believes exist on the astral.
Supernumerary Phantom Limbs - The sensation of limbs you do not posses in this life.
Phantom Limbs - The sensation of a limb or limbs someone used to have, but have lost or were amputated. (Not the same as supernumerary limbs and not non-human)
