I threw a lot of Mike Munroe trivia in there so enjoy :P"Its been one month since the tragic loss of 6 high school students on Mount Washington, including Josh Washington, the brother of twins Hannah and Beth who disappeared one year earlier. Now, one of the survivors shares the story."Matt turned his attention to the TV. "What the-""James Dean said to dream as if you'll live forever and live as if you'll die today. The stuff that happened on that mountain... it has to come out while I'm still around to do it."Matt stared in horror at the sight of Mike talking to the press. That kid would do anything for his ten seconds of fame. Apparently winning class president wasn't enough for him."Michael Munroe tells the full story, tonight at 10. In other news-"Matt turned off the television and grabbed his phone. He hadn't spoken to Mike since the night they post everyone. Not since his biggest problem was that his girlfriend might be cheating on him. He tapped Mike's photo and hit "call".. . .Mike paused his video game as his cell started to buzz. "Matt Taylor calling." He sighed and let his thumb hover over the "answer" key for a moment before curiosity got the better of him and he decided to answer. "Matt, my dude. How can I assist you?""Michael, what the fuck, man?""Not the friendly hello I was expecting," Mike said, adjusting his posture. "What'd I do to you this time?""Why are you going to the public about the mountain? The police didn't even believe us, what makes you think going to the press is going to solve anything? What did you even say to them?" Matt sounded furious. Mike could hear the shakiness of his voice through his phones speaker."Relax, dude, I didn't say anything about the uhh... the wendigoes," Mike lowered his voice, even though he was home alone. "I mostly just wanted to clear my- our names. Lots of people still think we're the ones who killed our friends. Jess's parents have a restraining order against me, I couldn't even go to her funeral," Mike swallowed the lump that was forming in the back of his throat. He may have hated commitment, but he really did love Jess. The image of her head rolling past his feet in the mines haunted him every night."Look, Mike, I'm sorry about Jess, but how exactly did you go about clearing our names? What did you tell them?""Well I told them about that old guy with the flamethrower, he seemed fishy as hell and he totally disappeared after he left the lodge with Chris.""The old guy? Really?" Matt laughed. "Who's going to believe that story? You're the only person alive who's apparently seen the guy, I don't even know if he exists, what's going to make anyone else believe it? And even if he does exist, you're just going to let the police find him and press charges when you know damn well that he was trying to protect you?""They won't find him, he's dead too. Sam and I found him with the others. And don't try to give me some bullshit about ruining his reputation, the guy was a hermit, he has no friends or family who's going to care anyway.""Mike, that's cold...""Better him than me."Matt pressed a sweaty palm to his forehead. Mike really did have the mind of a politician. The senior class was right when they voted him "most likely to be president." Although, maybe not quite as likely as he was before."So you just expect people to believe that some old guy was stalking us on the mountain. That's how you're going to protect your name?""Well, I mean, that's not all I told them," Mike hesitated. He was starting to regret the second part of his interview, but he needed to tell Matt before he watched it himself. "At one point during the interview, Josh's prank came up.""Oh shit, Mike, you didn't-""I didn't blame Josh for anything that he wasn't already guilty of. But I couldn't tell them that I saw the wendigo kill him so... they think he's missing. And I'm gonna be honest... the way the reporter responded to it... it does make him seem really guilty of, well, everything else.""That's great, Michael. Not only have the Washingtons lost all of their children, now one of them is a mass murderer. You really are something else."Matt hung up, and Mike sighed. Matt was right, of course, but someday he'd thank him.

This isn't my best work, and I'm sorry that I didn't really put Jess or Emily in the scene, but I really wanted it to focus on Matt! I hope you like it!Emily was being interviewed when Matt and Jess arrived at the police station. Ashley was just stepping out of interrogation room one. "Matt, oh my god!"Matt braced himself as Ash ran to hug him, but stumbled anyway. "Careful, I think I sprained something down in the mines," he said."Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Matt," Ashley winced. "I'm just glad you're okay! Jessica too! Oh my god, Emily and Mike were so sure you two were gone-""Mike? Is he here?" Jess asked, sounding hopeful.Ashley bit her bottom lip and cursed herself for mentioning Jessica's boyfriend. She locked eyes with Matt, who immediatelybrealized that Mike probably hadn't made it."Jess, Mike saved all of us," Ashley said, unwilling to go into detail.Jess smiled as an officer called her in for her interrogation. Matt squeezed her hand as she walked by."Emily will be so happy to see you," said Ashley."Who all is left, Ash?" Matt whispered, shoving his thumbs in his pockets. Ashley began to fidget and her eyes started to tear up. "Its just us. You, me, Em, and Jess. That's it." Matt tried to find something to say. "I'm so sorry, Ash, I-""Don't, I think I've talked about it enough for one night." "Right, sorry.. I'm gonna have a seat.""Me, too."Matt took a seat in one of the uncomfortable waiting chairs. He folded his hands in his lap and glanced around the hallway. He tried to wrap his head around everything that had happened that night, and the fact that he was the last man standing. He made a silent promise to the girls to be there for them from that day forward. He would be the best damn boyfriend Emily could ever ask for, he would be the best friend Ashley could ever want, and he would protect Jess from harm just as he had done a couple of hours before.

Yeah!! I still have a handful in my ask box that I never got around to and for that I'm sorry, but I will get to them soon!! I finally have the motivation to write again so I'll get on them asap!!Jess was waking up from yet another surgery. That makes 5, she thought. 5 surgeries and she was still alive. More than she could say for most of her friends... Jess pushed the thought from her mind and slowly pressed her palms to her eyes to keep from crying."Jess?"The voice caught her by surprise, it didn't come from her parents like last time, or even one of the nurses. She opened her eyes to see Emily sitting by her side. "Em? What are you-""I'm sorry, ok? I should have come sooner but I was afraid you didn't want to see me, I'm still kind of afraid of that but your mom wouldn't take no for an answer so-""Emily. I'm glad you're here.""Really? I mean, it's like I said, it was your mom's idea and-""No, I mean," Jess took a deep breath, if only to prove she still could, "I'm glad you're alive."Emily swallowed and let a tear fall down her cheek before shaking it off. "Even after Mike and-""Mike.... Mike is gone," said Jess, her voice cracking ever so subtly. "Everyone else is gone. And no one believes what happened so we need to stick together."Emily grabbed her friend's hand and looked her in the eyes. "Your hair is a mess," she teased."What?"Emily helped Jess sit up and pulled a hairbrush out of her bag. "Don't worry, I think I can fix it." Jess smiled. "Thanks, Em."After a moment of silent brushing, Emily gave Jess a cautious hug. "I'm glad you're alive too."

If Jess and Em had stayed friends through everything that would have been amazing! As for Josh... ughhhhh he deserves a happy ending but not like this!!! If he were to survive with Chris and Sam dead, I don't think he'd ever get through it. So I just can't see it being possible that Josh ever COULD have a happy ending without Chris or Sam.
