William Gaddis /// The Recognitions
Do I want to spoil the ending (it made me wobble on the stairs). Does Gaddis describe the sky too often (gray puffy clouds with tattered edges, clear dawns). Can we afford any measure of pity for artists (do they ever spare any themselves). Is it likely that copying language, style and behaviors amounts to the only method of being (is it a question you can bring yourself to ask). Are we crushed under the weight of things or falling through their total absence (nobody teaches you how to think).
