Baby mammoth to go on display today.

The carcass of a baby mammoth discovered in Siberia in 2007 will go on display at London’s Natural History Museum today, as part of their Mammoths: Ice Age Giant exhibition, which runs until 7 September.

The female mammoth is so well preserved because it lay in a vacuum created by mud and ice for 42,000 years, before being discovered by a reindeer hunter and his son.
