Jeet Kune Do: The longest weapon: Sidekick 2

Here’s a few different ways of attacking with the sidekick. Check the source link to see part 1.

Downward sidekick: This attacks the thigh, shin and knee and is the best to use because it burns little energy.

Parallel sidekick: This attacks the ribs, stomach, and kidney.

Upward sidekick: This is just a high-kick to the jaw or anywhere in the face but isn’t necessary to use.

Slide-in sidekick: This is coming forward at your target for the most powerful kick ever which was Bruce Lee’s last attack.  When you take one step forward your body pivots, back foot comes forward then you perform the sidekick.  This is necessary when theirs 4 or 5 feet between you and your target.

Back-step sidekick: You perform a sidekick by taking a step or a few steps back  from an attacker that comes forward.  When you do this it’s best to attack the legs.

Side-step sidekick: You simply take a step sideways to avoid a forward moving attacker so you can deliver the kick to the side of the leg.

Feint sidekick: It’s always good to throw out a fake, leading straight-arm attack to distract so it will be easier to kick.  You should use this no matter how you use the sidekick. The fake is best used to the face.
