Jeet Kune Do: Counter Attack

Countering is a useful skill that happens when someone attempts an attack against you and immediately you return one after avoiding or blocking theirs.  The attack can be by weapon, striking or some type of attack that comes by grabbing.  Do not practice in only traditional boxing ways because in reality any form of attack can shoot your way no matter what your doing.

Here’s some examples of countering.

Rear jab: This first counter happens when a rear-right-jab comes, sidestep it to your left and deliver a rear-left-jab to the jaw.

Bear hug: This comes when your grabbed from the back you want to shoot your elbow straight back and let your waist move at the same time for full power.  When grabbed from the side deliver a hard sideways elbow which should strike your attacker in the stomach.
