2013: Live with The Pullmen and Mia Dyson (CA, TX, US, UK, CAN) // Online with BWilling James, Zac Clark, Andrew McMahon + fun.

I started the day off today with a rainy walk up the hill, through pine trees and…orange trees??

Something about that just sums up what it feels like to live in this amazing little beach town that’s stolen my heart.

Vermont, I still love you, but day-um. Lots of pictures of sub-zero activities today. I just can’t get behind missing that.

I’m involved with playing, writing and producing just a metric ton of music right now and there are some really great opportunities to see these projects live or follow along on the internet that I thought you might like to know about.

IN THE STREETS OF AUSTIN AT SXSW

I’ll be spending a week in Austin this March along with about a million other people. This year I’m bringing a bike – who’s with me?

If you’re going to be there too, drop a line. If you think you might need anything like oh, a  drummer, a backup dancer, or someone to hold your hair back, don’t hesitate to ask.

WITH MIA DYSON IN THE US, UK + CANADA THIS SUMMER

image

Save the date - April 23rd, 2013 - that’s when Mia’s album “The Moment” hits the US.

In May, June and July of this year we’ll be playing shows on the east coast, west coast, UK and Canada, proving that dreams do in fact come true.

So if you’re in or near either US coast or somewhere in Canada or the UK, stay tuned. If you’re not, there’s plenty of time to move.

Pat and I have been watching like proud uncles as the record made it’s way into the world in Australia. Down under, “The Moment” was nominated for an ARIA (the Aussie Grammy), awarded 4 stars in Aussie Rolling Stone, and referred to as “Epic” and “Triumphant”. Pinch me, I can’t believe I’m not making all that up.

Follow along as Mia and “The Moment” make their way back to us.

ONLINE / BEHIND THE SCENES

B WILLING JAMES, PSYCHEDELIC BACK ALLEY MELODY WIZARD

B. BWIlling. Brendan. However you get his attention on the street, when you see him, shake his hand and congratulate this man for putting the finishing touches on his first proper studio solo album. Working with him, Lee Pardini and his brother Josh to create a sonic journey through his wonderfully twisted mind has been a real treat. My great goodness the man can sing.

Jason Mariani over at Brotheryn in Ojai helmed the controls for the main tracking of this record. Now he’s taking time off from celebrating Brotheryn’s Grammy nomination to mix this record to high heaven.

You can expect more about Brendan this summer. Meantime, I highly recommend you follow, friend and keep tabs on this guy.

ZAC CLARK WITH FUN. + ANDREW MCMAHON

For as long as I’ve known him, Zac has innocently and magnetically drawn people into his life to work with him.

The latest Clark co-conspirator is Andrew McMahon (Jack’s Mannequin, Something Corporate), who has enlisted Zac and our dear friend and fellow Young Volcano Joe Ballaro (Hot Rot Circuit) to join his new band.

The cool thing about being Andrew McMahon is that your first tour with a new project can be a sold out run of shows opening for the band fun. Not too shabby.

To celebrate Zac leaving the orbit of planet Earth, let’s watch this video that our friend Chris Cullari shot that perfectly encapsulates the generous spirit that Zac shares with all of us mere mortals. So many familiar friends and faces make this video what it is: Jer Coons, Dylan Allen, Steve Belleville, Zoeys, Mike Poorman and the spiritual essence of Jeff Fry, Matt Bogdanow, Greg May and Joe Ballaro.
