Instagram is very excited to welcome Maykel Loomans to the Instagram family! Maykel holds a BA in Communication and Multimedia Design from Zuyd University. During his last year of college, he co-founded a design / development shop, and after five years went solo as a freelancer.
“I have been wanting to focus my work on a product that people love to use," says Maykel, who is "absolutely stoked to create beautiful things” for a company that has such a great user base, but is still early in its life.
Unsurprisingly, Maykel is a photography fanatic. He also runs, cycles, and enjoys finer teas, coffees, beer and wine. He claims, though, that his work is his biggest hobby: “I look at almost everything as a person, but also as a designer. This makes you notice awesome details, but also things that get badly overlooked.”
