Turkey Warms Up To Iran

Turkish President Erdoğan’s visit to Tehran on October 4 signifies an improving relationship between Turkey and Iran, and that the political climate in the Middle East is moving towards the formation of an end-time ten-nation alliance. The Bible predicted that a ten-nation alliance would form prior to the return of Jesus Christ in Daniel 2, 7 and 8, and in Revelation 13 and 17. In my book, I explain why this alliance will include Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria and have the president of Turkey as its leader.

On October 4, President Erdoğan met with Iranian President Rouhani and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran. These talks were preceded by a visit to Turkey by Iran’s Military Chief of Staff Baqeri on August 15, and indicate warming relations between Turkey and Iran.

Historically, Turkey and Iran have been rivals dating back to when Alexander the Great led the Greek Empire (Anatolia/Turkey) to invade and conquer the Persian Empire (Iran) in 330 BC. There was a series of wars between the Ottoman Empire and the Persian Dynasties in the 16th to 19th centuries. Even in present day Turkey and Iran have been on opposing sides. The majority of Muslims in Turkey are Sunnis while Iran is predominately Shiite. Turkey supports Syrian rebel forces while Iran backs Syrian President Assad’s military. Who could have guessed that Turkey and Iran would cooperate today? Yet the Bible prophesied this 2000 to 2500 years ago.
