Rough Life (Part 2)
A/n: Here’s part two(: I was going to wait a little longer to post, but I was too excited and i really want to get the next parts out ASAP. Things start getting, interesting… Enjoyyy<3
Word Count: 1491 (Another short one, were getting therreee)
Pairings: Slight Reader x Dean
Warnings: Pretty gruesome deaths.. oops
Today was just another day. You got up, got ready, your mom
had made some breakfast, your dad gave you a kiss on your forehead and you were
off on your walk to school with Sam and Dean. You were now 11 almost 12 and in
middle school. Little did you know today was going to be the day you would
never forget no matter how hard you tried.
—————-
The past five years have slowly gone downhill. Your dad was away a lot more on hunts since you were getting bigger and he didn’t need to be with you as much. You started getting teased at school for writing stories about monsters. Apparently that was a boyish thing to do and the girls would tell you that you were a freak for having a passion towards it. Dean always had your back when it came to bullies. He was starting high school and when he was around no one even looked at you wrong.
Sammy and Dean always knew how to cheer you up when you had a crappy day. You had all known each other for as long as you could remember. They had seen your worst and your best days and you had seen theirs. They could sense if you weren’t feeling off just by your expression and you could do the same for them. They knew when you faked a smile or forced a laugh because they knew how to make you really smile. The three of you were all in the same position so it was easy to understand each other.
You had gotten walkie talkies for your 9th birthday and you had given Sam and Dean each one. At night when you were supposed to be sleeping you talked to the two of them for hours until you would fall asleep. Sometimes when it was just Dean and you talking, Dean would tell you stories to help you fall asleep if you were having a rough night and if Dean was having a hard time you’d sing to him or tell him things to cheer him up. You knew Dean’s soft side and maybe that’s why he trusted you so much. Some nights you’d just say sweet dreams or good night, no conversation, just those two words. Just hearing each other’s voices was calming. He was your best friend and he knew more about you than you knew about yourself.
………….
On the walk home Dean, Sammy and you were messing around and having fun. Dean had just gotten back from a week long hunt with his dad and you missed him. Dean just started being able to hunt and it made you and Sam very jealous. You were proud of him though and he always told you and Sammy stories when he got back and taught you the things he had learned.
As soon as you got home to drop off your backpack, you planned on going over and hanging out with Sam and Dean like you did any other day but your parents weren’t letting you. They never let you not see them so you knew something was off. You were upset but you went to you room knowing not to start anything. You closed your door, quickly jumped on your bed and before you could grab it, you heard Deans voice through the walkie talkie under your pillow.
“Hey, (y/n), I don’t know if you’re by your walkie right now but I think somethings wrong”
Dean sounded worried and you immediately felt sick to your stomach. Dean Winchester never sounded worried.
“Yeah I’m here Dee, what’s going on?” you said trying not to sound scared
“My dad is freaking out, something about a yellow eyed demon thing and he’s making me and Sammy stay in my room, are you okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine. Are you guys okay?”
“Don’t worry about us (y/n) just stay safe I’m gonna—“
“Dean?”
You called his and Sammy’s name over and over but there was no answer. Now you officially started freaking out.
“–Were fine, (y/n) get your parents and get in the safe room, something is here.”
Something is here
Those three words replayed in your mind. You’d never actually been on a hunt but you remembered everything you had been told. After dean said those words, everything started blurring together as you were running on adrenaline and fear. You grabbed a hunting knife your dad had bought you when he was on a hunt. You were 11. Most eleven year olds are worrying about boys and when they’re going to get they’re period but not you. You knew a lot for your age and right now that was important.
You took a deep breath knife in hand, walkie talkie attached to the belt loop in your jeans just in case Dean or Sammy needed anything and you went to find you parents. They weren’t in the kitchen where they were previously whispering about whatever was going on. You ran into the living room, again there was nothing. You ran down the hall, screaming their name but it was quiet.
You stood outside the door to their room, it was the last place they could possibly be. You opened the door slowly. It was almost too dark to see, the only light coming from the setting sun and street lights coming through the curtains but you saw three dark figures. You froze, your common sense telling you to get the hell out of there but you couldn’t move.
Your parents were sitting back to back in two chairs, tied up, duct taped mouths and bloody faces. They weren’t moving and you couldn’t tell if they were alive or dead. This couldn’t be real. This didn’t feel real. You were half expecting to wake up it your bed, where everything was okay but you couldn’t wake yourself out of this nightmare. The man standing behind them wasn’t moving. You couldn’t see his face but you knew he wasn’t human.
“(y/n)!! Get out of the house!! Please tell me you can hear this!! Get out now or were coming in to get you” Dean screamed through the walkie talkie on your hip but you couldn’t hear him no matter how hard he yelled. You were frozen for what felt like hours staring at your parents. You were paralyzed with fear.
The man slowly lifted his head, you couldn’t see anything but his yellow eyes.
“You should probably listen to him, sweetheart” the man with the yellow eyes laughed.
He took out a blade, looked you in the eyes and slit your mother’s throat. You lunged forward using all the force you had in you to get to your mom. You didn’t realize but you were screaming, loudly and John heard you.
John was outside with Sammy and Dean. Their house was on fire with their mother still inside. John heard your scream, which broke him from his daze, he quickly told Dean to watch Sam and not to move. John was hoping you and your parents were okay and were safe and sound in the safe room. That wasn’t the case.
The demon quickly raised his hand before you could reach your mother, pushing you up against the wall behind you. He was making you watch. You pushed as hard as you could to break free fromthe invisible force holding you back, but it was no use.
John was down the hall and saw into the open bedroom door. The demon looked John in the eyes, waved to him like a friendly neighbor and in the same motioned slammed the door shut. The demon grabbed your father by his hair and pulled his head back, revealing his throat.
You couldn’t move, you were still screaming and still unaware that you were doing so, tears streaming down your face. You couldn’t close your eyes no matter how hard you tried. John was slamming against the door, also screaming, the demon looked into your eyes and smiled as he slit your fathers throat.
You were now on the ground, tears falling over your cheeks, the demon was gone along with the invisible force that was holding you but you didn’t even notice. Both your parents were dead in front of you and you couldn’t do anything to stop it. John slammed his way into the bedroom and when he saw the scene in front of him he froze. He quickly scooped you up and got you out of the house which quickly caught fire like the Winchesters house.
When you got outside there were bright red and blue lights flashing everywhere, you didn’t talk or show any facial expression whatsoever. You were waiting to wake up and you were still processing everything that had just happened. You didn’t remember a lot from that night but the image of both of your parents was etched into you mind forever.

Paring: Dean x Reader
Word Count: 1403
xx
You stayed back on the hunt this week so you were alone in the bunker. Actually, Sam and Dean made you stay back after you sprained your wrist on a hunt which you insisted was fine but they made you stay back anyway. You were a hell of a hunter and they knew that but they were still very protective of you which meant if you weren’t 100%, you weren’t hunting.
You had to admit, sometimes you didn’t mind being alone. You could do whatever the hell you wanted, which also included being able to walk around without any pants on. It was nothing Sam and Dean hadn’t seen. You had been known the Winchester brothers for about 8 years and you were all very close.
It had been 4, long days alone in the bunker. You did laundry, restocked the pantry and fridge, took several baths and researched. Sam texted you last night saying they had found where the witch they were hunting was hiding out and they’d deal with it and be home by the next night. They were only a state away and about 4 hours from the bunker so you knew it wouldn’t take them long to get home.
7:28
You were leaning against your headboard, reading when your phone lit up with a text from Sam.
Sam: The witch did something to Dean and he won’t talk to me about it. He went after her by himself because he wanted to get home to you as fast as he could. He’s not physically hurt but its bad (y/n). Just be prepared when we get there. We’ll be back by 11. See you soon.
What the hell was that supposed to mean. Did the witch put a spell on him? Why the hell would Dean be stupid enough to go after her alone? Now you were just worried and wanted to see them as soon as possible.
You were in your room, sitting on your bed against the headboard, trying to read your book but your mind was only focused on Dean. You’d been trying to pass the time until Sam and Dean got home and all you could do was worry. You heard the impala and practically sprinted to the door of the bunker. By the time you got there they were setting their duffel bags on the table.
“Hey, guys. How’d it go?” you asked hesitantly, knowing by what Sam told you it didn’t go well.
Before you knew it Dean had his arms around you in a tight hug and you immediately hugged back. He was crouching slightly to accommodate your height so your chin was on his shoulder. Sam was standing there and you gave him a, what the hell is going on look. He just shrugged his shoulders and set his gun on the table next to the other bags.
“I missed you too, Dean.” You laughed, hoping to get some reply from Dean but he just held on to you tighter.
You mouthed to Sam, “I’m gonna try to talk to him” and pointed to the hallway by your room signaling you wanted to try to talk alone. Sam gave you an agreeing nod, said goodnight and went on with his night. You could tell he was worried about his brother but you were better with talking to dean about his feelings than anyone and he knew that. He knew Dean would be okay.
You gently pushed Dean away.
“Let’s go to my room okay?”
You finally got to see his face. His eyes were bloodshot and he looked like he had been fighting tears. That’s when you knew it was bad.
Dean gave no reply or anything but when you grabbed his hand he followed closely behind you to you room.
In the past, if there was a bad hunt or if Dean had a nightmare, he always spent the night in your room. It was never awkward, or weird the next morning but Dean found comfort with you. You knew how to talk to him when he was like this and you hated seeing him hurt so you did whatever you could to help.
When you reached your room you closed the door behind the both of you and motioned him to go lay down.
“I’ll be right back okay? Just get comfortable.”
Dean just stood there but when you walked into the bathroom to get ready for bed you could hear him taking off his shoes.
A couple minutes later, you opened the door and saw Dean leaning against your headboard under the blankets. He was now just in a t-shirt, socks and his boxers, starring at his hands in his lap, waiting for you. You just felt heartbroken. You walked towards the bed and laid down next to him. He slid down so he was laying down and you laid on your side next to him, resting on your elbow. He had his arm around you and pulled you closer to him. You put your hand on his chest and you could feel his heart pounding under his shirt.
“Tell me what happened.” You said in the most sincere voice. He knew you wouldn’t make him tell you if he didn’t want to and that you’d back off right away and talk about something else to keep him occupied if he was uncomfortable. But you could tell he wanted to talk about it, to at least get it off his chest.
You could tell Dean was hesitant to talk.
“It’s okay Dean, your safe here. You can talk to me.”
“She tortured you, (y/n). And I.. I couldn’t do anything to stop her.” Dean spoke, for the first time in hours and he sounded broken.
“What do you mean Dee? I’m alright, look.” You said motioning to yourself. “Besides my wrist, which is almost completely healed, I’m okay.”
“She was strong, stronger than I expected.” Dean paused, you could tell he was trying as hard as he could not to break down. “I thought I could just go in, kill her and get out of there so we could get back to you. I hate leaving you here all by yourself when I don’t know if you’re okay.”
“I am okay though, I always am.” You half smiled, “What happened in there Dean?” you felt Deans heartbeat under your hand get faster when he thought about it.
“She made me think she took you, she knew so much, too much, about you, Sammy, the bunker, everything. I… I didn’t think it was possible for a witch to get into your head that deep, but she was also stronger, than any witch I’ve ever seen before.” He paused again but you let him continue.
“She had me against a wall and I couldn’t move (y/n), and, you were tied to a chair in front of me, screaming and begging, and I,” Dean took a deep breath. “I couldn’t save you, I tried so hard, I’m so sorry I couldn’t save you (y/n).” Dean’s eyes started to water, his voice was cracking and he was falling apart in front of you.
“Hey! I’m alive Dean. No one hurt me. I’m okay.” You grabbed Dean’s hand and put it over your heart and held it there. “You feel that, I’m here, with you, right now, and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.” A tear fell across your cheek. “Especially with you around to make sure that doesn’t happen.” You smiled and Dean looked to you. “I’m okay, you’re okay, Sammy’s okay. We’re all here Dean and we aren’t leaving you.”
“I know you aren’t, I just, I need you (y/n), and without you I’d be falling apart. If anything were to happen to you-“
“Nothing is going to happen to me Dean.” You interrupted and turned over to switch off the lamp next to you.
“Come on Dean, You need to rest.”
You both pulled into each other tightly as you rested your head against his chest.
“Goodnight Dean.”
There was silence for a few seconds before Dean repiled.
“I love you (y/n)”
You’ve only heard those three words a few times from Dean’s mouth in all of the 8 years you’ve known him, and he only said it when he meant it.
“I love you too Dean” you said back, smiling to yourself before you drifted to sleep in Deans arms.
Rough Life (Part 1)
This is my new series I’ve been working on and I was going to post it once I reached my next hundred followers but I’m only about 5 away and i got excited so here you go(:
A/n: This starts off with you, Sam and Dean as kids and will eventually get into present day time in the hunter world but I’m kinda a backstory fanatic so I’m making this into a series. It gets better I promise, the beginning is important for the end product so be patient with me and if you want to be tagged in the next ones let me know. Enjoy<3
Word Count: 1462 (This one is short, I know)
Pairing: Eventual Dean x Reader
Warnings: None yet(:
You had a rough life, but you managed. Your father, Joseph Collins, was a hunter and your mother, Daniel Collins was a retired hunter. After she found she was pregnant with you she stopped hunting to take care of you. The hunter to normal life transition wasn’t easy but you all found your way.
Joseph started hunting with an old friend, John Winchester. He had also recently started a family with Mary Winchester. Your mother and Mary were both very familiar with the hunter life so they knew to handle themselves while John and Joseph were out hunting.
Mary had a four year old son, Dean and was 7 months pregnant with a second boy. You were almost two and you and dean were best friends. When the guys were out on a hunt, Daniel, Mary, Dean and you all stayed in one house to make sure you were all safe so you all spent a lot of time together.
Both of your houses were very well protected of all things evil so there was nothing ever to worry about. Plus both Daniel and Mary were trained to handle anything to walk, crawl, or transport through the front door. This was the hunter life, it was hard but it was going well. The guys would come home and spend as much time with family. They didn’t hunt as often as they used to since they now had a family to protect.
——————–
It was your sixth birthday tomorrow. You were so excited to spend time with your best friends Sam and Dean. You hung out with them all the time since they lived next door but since there was also going to be cake and presents this time, it was way more exciting to you. It was 7:00 pm and your bedtime was nearing. You were way too anxious for the day that was approaching. You were curled up on the couch with your mom watching cartoons as she read. Your dad who had been working on research walked in.
“Come on sweetheart, let’s go wash up and get you to bed. You have a big day tomorrow”, your dad said smiling, proud that he had another year to look forward to watching you grow. He was a good dad. He was gone a lot and wasn’t always there when you wanted him to be but when he was he tried his best to show you how much he loved you.
“I’m too excited to sleep daddy” you said in a whiney and pleading tone.
“If I let you stay up you’ll be tired for your party tomorrow and the faster you get to sleep the faster tomorrow will be here, come on lets go brush your teeth”.
You got up knowing he was right but you didn’t let him know that. You mumbled and whined as he walked with you into the bathroom. You brushed your teeth, with your dads help and changed into some princess pajamas and you were ready for bed. Although hanging out with Sam and Dean toughened you up, you still had a girly side.
Your mom picked you up and you wrapped your arms and legs around her and set you head on her shoulder as she carried you into you bedroom. She put you down when you both entered your room and you ran and jumped on to your bed.
“Mommy read me a story, read me a story!!” you said clapping and giggling on your bed.
She smiled and knowing it was just you trying to procrastinate bed time but she knew it made you happy. She picked up a book and walked over to you. She tucked you into bed and read to you while rubbing your stomach. You fell asleep after about ten minutes. When your mother looked up to you and saw you fast asleep, she smiled bending over and placing a light kiss on your forehead. You dad walked in did the same and then wrapped his arm around Daniel kissing the top of her head.
“I can’t believe our baby is already turning 6 tomorrow”, your mother whispered to your father, trying not to wake you and slowly turning to walk out of your room.
“She’s growing into a beautiful young lady”, your father said proudly, switching of the light in your room and quietly closing the door.
——————
You woke up feeling tired but refreshed. You remembered it was your birthday and quickly shot up out of your bed and ran into your parent’s room. You jumped up on the bed waking both of them
“It’s my birthday, it’s my birthday!!!”
Your dad grabbed you and started tickling you. You squirmed and laughed trying to push him away. He pulled you into a hug, kissing your forehead.
“Happy birthday baby girl” he said in a cheerful tone as he laughed at you.
“Happy birthday sweetheart” your mother giggled pulling you into a tight hug.
You jumped off the bed and ran down the hall as both of your parents followed. You saw all of the blue and purple balloons they had set up around to kitchen and living room after you had fallen asleep. They started making some coffee before grabbing a box of captain crunch for you to have for breakfast. It was your favorite.
You had a huge smile on your face, unable to get rid of it. “When are Sam and Dee coming?” you said hoping they’d be over soon. The nickname “Dee” came natural to you. When you first met Dean you were still learning how to talk and Dee was just how you pronounced his name so it just stuck.
“They’ll be over around 11:00 sweetheart.” Your father said.
You looked at the digital clock that read 9:38 am.
“Can’t they come sooner??” you said in a sad tone.
“They’ll be here before you know it baby, c’mon lets go get you ready.” your mother said smiling at you.
You finished your breakfast and followed your mother down the hall. She washed you up and brought you into your room. She helped you put on a blue sundress since it was the middle of summer and you guys would be having a BBQ. She put your (y/h/c) hair into pigtails and you were now ready and anxious to start your party. You looked at the clock again.
10:49 am
“It’s almost eleven daddy!!”
“They should be here soon” your dad said smiling.
Both of your parents were ecstatic that you were so excited. Some other hunter friends showed up and you all worked your way into the backyard. They all wished you a happy birthday, talked about how big you have gotten and went on. It was a small gathering, maybe 15 people but the amount of people there didn’t matter to you. You just wanted to have fun and eat cake.
It was around 11:45 now. Your dad, John and some other guys you didn’t know very well were all standing around the BBQ, beers in hand, cooking up some burgers. Your mother, Mary and three other women were sitting in some chairs talking. You barely noticed them because you were playing with your two best friends. Dean was now 8 and tormented you and Sam since he was the oldest but you all still had fun with each other. Sam was 4 and mostly just chased dean and you around. You guys all loved each other’s company since you didn’t really have any other friends to hang out with. A couple of neighborhood kids were there but they were all girly and you liked hanging out with Sam and Dean much more.
The three of you chased each other around, screaming and wailing, playing tag, fighting pretend monsters, having as much fun as kids as you could have. The rest of the day went as any other birthday would. You opened some presents. Nothing too fancy. Being a hunter wasn’t a high paying job. Hunting wasn’t a paying job at all actually. Most money came from credit card scams and money won from gambling pool. But you were used to the simple life. You didn’t ask for anything you didn’t need and you cherished everything you had.
You had some cake and ice cream with Sam and Dean. Ran around some more on the sugar rush that had just shot through the three of you and then fell asleep on the floor around each other and some fake foam swords and guns that you all had been playing with. Everyone except John and Mary had left around 6:30 pm. You, Sam, and Dean played some more while your parents talked and joked.
It was now 8:00 and you were exhausted. The Winchesters had gone home and it was the best day you’ve ever had. It was also probably the best day you’d have in a very long time…
