Hey everybody, we know it seems like Oliver is the very picture of brindle-colored health, but we want to share with you that sadly, Oliver is rapidly going blind and needs to have surgery by the end of the summer to remove his cataracts. We already know how we’re going to get him to the pet hospital (by telling him he’s really going to his first baseball game this time) but paying for the surgery is the real challenge. We’ve sadly watched as Oliver has started to bonk into things, especially at night and it’s gotten really difficult for him to play fetch, which is his most favorite thing in the world. Recently the vet said that he can probably only see shadows now.
Coincidentally, Paul learned two weeks ago that his company was closing down, effective immediately and he would no longer have a job. The pre-surgery, surgery, and follow up visits will end up costing about $6,000, so we hope to raise that much, but we are starting with a lower goal to give us a better chance of reaching it. We need your help! Just a few dollars would mean so much to us.
Oliver has only just turned seven, so he is in prime shape for cataract surgery. We don’t want to make the little guy live over half his life totally blind, especially when his ridiculous antics bring us all so much joy. Oliver has been working hard for your money for years now - he does something new literally every day for our enjoyment. If all of Oliver’s fans pledge just $5, we’ll have this money raised in no time. Plus, we have fun prizes available for every donation level!
