Bimbo Movies (part 2)

I don’t think that any list of bimbo movies would be complete without Legally Blonde. Elle Woods is unquestionably a bimbo in this movie, even if is is a smart bimbo, and that’s okay. You don’t have to be dumb to be a bimbo (although it usually helps). Having said that, this is not my favorite bimbo movie of all time. It has a lot of mixed messages for bimbos. Do you have to be hott and smart to get a hot smart Man? Should bimbos sleep with their boss? Should bimbos attempt to make friends with smart but mean brunettes? But there are a few really good lessons for bimbos in this movies, like the importance of choosing a Guy who respects you regardless of how smart you are or how hott you are, knowing the science perming your hair can win a big court case, and of course The Bend and Snap! Honestly we could have an entire film school discussion about the merits of this movie as a movie for bimbos. I think that as long as a bimbo doesn’t try to think too much about this movie, and makes sure to ask her Boyfriend or Husband about any lessons she tries to take from this movie then this should make for a perfectly enjoyable movie for a bimbo’s movie night. (Bimbo Fun Fact: This movie is based off a true story about a girl who chose to go to Stanford because she like the mall across the street from the school.)

This is probably my 3rd favorite Marilyn Monroe movie. This movie definitely leans on the gold digger model of a bimbo. This is the movie that gave us the famous song Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend. There are plenty bimbos who are very happy as gold diggers. there are even some Men out there who enjoy being with a gold digger. The gold digger has just never been my favorite type of bimbo but that’s me. Marilyn does look great in this movie, even if Jane Russell is the movie’s heroine despite the fact that she is brunette.

Blonde Ambition is the story of a simple country girl who goes to the big city to surprise her Boyfriend, gets a makeover and ends up staying in the big city. Most people do not like this movie, but then most people are not bimbos. This movie has a fairly straight forward plot so it is beri easy to follow. Jessica Simpson is absolutely adorable. Even though her character is not over burdened by an abundance of brain power she is still highly competent which makes her an asset to her new boss, and she spreads smiles and good vibes wherever she goes with every one she meets. Really, what could be more bimbo than that?

Fair word of warning: There is one scene in this movie where Jessica Simpson uses the word “bimbo” as an insult. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t go into details, but this is just another example of how even some of the nicest girls can be so mean to each other, both in their words and actions but also just in the way that they think about each other. We need to take back the word “bimbo” and redefine it as a word that is certainly not for everybody, but always meant as the most sincere of compliments. (rant over).

One more word of warning: Blonde Ambition the movie, is not to be confused with Blond Ambition, Madonna’s 1990 World tour.
